Ang Ho Kam, a weak, disadvantaged but kind lunch delivery boy, happens to fall in love with Lily, the girl of his dreams from a local sports center. However, his dream is crushed after a disastrous date with her, when the bully Judo master Black Bear, who also admires Lily, intervenes.

This is a story of rivalry and friendship between two young swimmers; a tale of natural talent versus hard work. Talented swimmer Chung is a transfer student. In his new class, 4C, he meets a swim relay team led by Wing. Despite being proficient in all four styles, Wing is frustrated at his team’s losing streak to Class 4A. At his first swimming gala, Chung plans to show off his skills. Unfortunately, he shows his imperfect starting dives and lack of stamina instead. The mistake he makes in his starting dive even causes his team to lose. After the defeat, he decides to quit the relay match. However, after observing Chung’s freestyle performance, Wing starts teaching him techniques in starting dives and racing. Wing aims to beat Class 4A with the same team members, including Chung.

A Macau photographed with elegant realism forms the backdrop to the life of Lina, a Chinese immigrant working both as a waitress in a restaurant and as a hostess in a bar in order to save money to join her mother and daughter in China. Chicken Feet assists in running an honorable gambling den owned by the crippled Uncle Fan and his son Kit. Magic Chef features Gallen Lo, Francis Ng, and Dicky Cheung as three brothers who inherit their parent's Wonton Noodles Restaurant. An ex-staff member establishes another restaurant just next to theirs to ruin the three brother's business. The trio then strives for their best to bring back the restaurant's past glamour... Hilarious acting by Dicky Cheung is of course crucial to make this drama serious amusing, but award-winning actor Francis Ng also exhibits his talents in comedy as well! Andy Hui, Boy'z, and Emme Wong all appear as special guests.
