Gao Liang and Gu Yi Ye are good friends and rivals since they joined the army. They fall in love with the same girl, Jiang Nan Zheng. However, Gu Yi Ye eventually gives up his love in the name of friendship and marries A Xiu, the daughter of their old squad leader who died in a war. As time passes, Gao Liang not only stays true to his heart but also shoulders the duties and mission of a soldier. In 2003, Gao Liang and Jiang Nan Cheng got married and formed a happy family. In 2008, Gao Liang, who returns from further studies in Russia, was transferred to be the acting brigade commander of the Blue Army because of an observation report.

He reflected on a series of issues of falsification and formalism and decided to reform the training methods. Through a series of actual combat training, he managed to train a group of soldiers who can fight well. In a military exercise conducted by the headquarters, Gao Liang persisted in the tradition of actual combat and at the same time, lead his group in breaking the prescribed forms of methods and innovating a new combat method. In the end, Gao Liang works together with Gu Yi Ye and Jiang Nan to expose the falsification training methods, and reform the Blue Army to become the strongest military team.

Tells the story of Zheng Shu Peng, a virologist, and the Chinese medical team that involves their fight against the Ebola virus in 2014. They use their humanitarian spirit to fight the virus and finally successfully contain the spread of the virus to save a large number of lives.

Due to an emergency mission, military doctor Zhang Du Hang is suddenly sent aboard a naval medical ship dedicated to humanitarian efforts. There, he clashes with female doctor Lu Yang due to their contrasting ideologies towards medicine.

As a doctor, Zhang Du Hang is far from impressed with Lu Yang as he finds her to be overly rational and calm. Lu Yang actually shares a similar contempt for his methods which she finds to be from the wild. They are both transferred to the same department leaving them no choice but to cooperate with each other in the face of urgent situations like a merchant ship in distress, transnational disaster relief, a virus epidemic and anti-terrorism efforts. Their story is an ode to the contemporary Chinese navy.

Hua Mu Lan is strong-willed young woman. She proved that she can be just as good, if not better, than the men by joining the all-male army in place of her elderly father.

An Joon Ho is a soldier. He is quiet and calm, but inflexible. Sergeant Park Beom Goo notices Private An Joon Ho's tenacity and ability to observe. He transfers An Joon Ho to the D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) team. Their mission is to catch deserters. An Joon Ho works with Sergeant Park Beom Goo and Corporal Han Ho Yeol on the team. Sergeant Park Beom Goo looks tired all the time. He curses and nags at An Joon Ho and Han Ho Yeol, but he also takes care of them with his keen insight. Han Ho Yeol sometimes gives An Joon Ho investigative know-how, but he sometimes annoys him.

Meanwhile, First Lieutenant Im Ji Seob only cares about his success in the military. He does not care for the D.P. team.
