10 years ago, Tanioka Hatsune was a famous young violinist. She won many international music competitions and performed with prestigious orchestras. For some reason, Tanioka Hatsune decided to walk away from her career and never perform on stage again. Now, she is 28-years-old and works as a public officer in Nishi Ward, Saitama City. She still enjoys to play the violin in private, but Tokiwa Asahi becomes aware of her. Tokiwa Asahi is a rising maestro, who is based in Germany. One day, his father, who is the head of Nishi Ward in Saitama City, tells him to return to Japan and rebuild the local Kodama Symphony Orchestra. Life Is Beautiful is a story about tracing one’s first love and finding real love in the process. It follows the story of Oh Se Yeon, a devoted wife to her husband Jin Bong and a doting mother to their children.

She suddenly learns that she no longer has much time left to live. As if trying to complete a puzzle in her life, she makes a strange request to her husband to help her find her first love. Although reluctant at first, Jin Bong finally gives in to his wife’s absurd final wish.

Together, they embark on a journey to search for Se Yeon’s first love. However, the only information Se Yeon has is his name. Their trip turns out to be a bittersweet journey which allowed them to recall their precious moments in the past and to create fresh memories to keep.

This 2 night special takes off during their graduation, where Chiaki-senpai & Nodame left for Europe. The first special centered on Chiaki's story, the story tells about Chiaki's dream to be a conductor. Nodame on the other hand attended the conservatory to attain her dream to one-day play the piano for Chiaki. After her hard work, Nodame was given a chance to have a mini recital. During the recital, Chiaki saw her worth and realized that he cannot go on with out her.

Nodame and Chiaki mutually decide that it would be for the best if they parted ways for a while so Nodame can practice for an upcoming competition. However, when things don't go her way, she gets impatient and depressed. While Nodame is away, Chiaki's former pianist Rui Son returns to take her place. To make matters worse, Rui and Chiaki are set to play the song Nodame dreams of playing with Chiaki herself: Ravel's "Concerto in G Major".

Chiaki Shinichi wins he prestigious Platini International Music Competition and becomes the new orchestra conductor for the Le Marlet Orchestra. Chiaki then goes with Frank to observe the orchestra and is astonished by their poor performance. It seems due to lack of funding the orchestra lost many of its members & the interest of its audience. Meanwhile, Nodame prepares for a graduation exam at her music school. She is happy that Chiaki has finally become a conductor and becomes even more enthusiastic when Chiaki asks her to play Ravel's "Bolero" with the orchestra. But, her excitement soon turns to disappointment when Son Rui takes her part in the "Bolero" performance. Nodame tries to hide her disappointment from Chiaki. The performance itself turns out to be a bomb. The audience laughs while Chiaki tries to do his best. Chiaki thinks back to his first practice with the S Orchestra and his teacher Franz Strezemann. Nodame attempts to comfort Chiaki after the performance, with Nodame and Chiaki eventually deciding that they will make the next one a success. Chiaki holds an audition for new members in his orchestra, while Nodame takes care of the promotional activities. Finally, the performance is set to begin. The concert hall is packed thanks to Nodame's efforts. Nodame is excited about the performance, but also has an uneasy feeling as well. Chiaki then takes the stage, holds his conducting baton in the air and ...
