After suffering from serial paranormal events, a wealthy family living in LA summons a young rising shaman duo Hwa Rim and Bong Gil to save the newborn of the family. Once they arrive, Hwa Rim senses a dark shadow of their ancestor has latched on the family in a so-called 'Grave Calling'.

In order to exhume the grave and relieve the ancestor, Hwa Rim seeks help from top-notch geomancer Sang Deok and mortician Yeong Geun. To their dismay, the four find the grave at a shady location in a remote village in Korea. Unaware of the consequences, the exhumation is carried out, unleashing a malevolent force buried underneath.

In his 40s, the stuntman Woo-seok wishes to go back to the prime of his life in 1997, before a facial scar ended his acting dreams. One day, he purchases five talismans from an unknown monk, hoping to change his life. However, during a film shoot, a car accident transports him back to his high school days in 1997. Now living as the high school student, he embarks on a project to revamp his past life, which was filled with a troublesome father, son, and husband.

A story about a father and a daughter puting aside their differences and conflicts for the sake of the grand-kid. During this process, the father and the daughter understood each other more and grew closer together.

"Three sisters, aged four, six, and ten, live like orphans in Yunnan province, in the village of Xiyangtang (elevation: 3,500 feet; population: 80 families). Their mother has abandoned the family. The father, Sun Shunbao, has gone to the city to work. So they fend for themselves, cadging meals from their aunt, who tolerates them so long as they work. The father returns, but only briefly, bringing new shoes but taking the two younger sisters to live with him in the city and leaving the eldest, Yingying, to stay with her grandfather, Sun Xinliang. He tends his sheep, and she is left alone, and lonely. She even turns a sheet of cellophane into a toy. She asks a friend, “Can I come to your house to play?” He responds, “Why?” The grandfather takes her to an autumn feast in a nearby village. Afterward there is a town meeting. The mayor tells the assembled villagers that the government is intent on collecting the health insurance fees they can’t afford to pay. The people also complain about the government’s “rural revival” program: “They’re building these fancy new houses, and meanwhile the villagers can hardly afford to eat.” Some months later, the father returns again, this time to stay. He was unable to support his family in the city. The family is reunited, except for the mother. In her place, Sun brings a babysitter” and her daughter Yanyan. The final words belong to Zhenzhen, the six year-old sister: “Kids who have a mommy are the happiest in the world.” Then the final shot: a long tracking shot, without words, follows the babysitter and her daughter as they walk through the snow-pocketed mountains. This is a film about a Naval Air Corps Director who hates the war. Director Honda uses this film to ask the question "What is war?", showing the human bonds between Japan and America, Japanese military tactics which had little regard for life, and the attitude of Japanese military personnel who treated their actions as if they were just doing a job. This film contains few battle scenes, concentrating instead on the love stories of young officers and female members of the community in this lonely air base. The setting for this film is Rabaul, an island in Papua New Guinea where the Japanese maintain a military air, the loss of which dealt a decisive blow to the Japanese in the South Pacific Theater. Unlike The Eagle of the Pacific, this movie contains many more dramatic elements. Lt. Wakabayashi, reputed as a daredevil-like leader with his strict way of life...his war friends...the teenage boy pilots in Wakabayashi's squadron...a reporter...the women at the local bar...through all these characters, Director Honda shows a quiet anger towards the spirit of a war which destroys society and shows little regard for human life. Whereas The Eagle of the Pacific utilized a lot of footage from The War at Sea From Hawaii to Malay, this film has many scenes which are well coordinated between the drama and special effects crews. Good examples are the aerial dogfight with the enemy pilot nicknamed 'Yellow Snake', Lt. Wakabayashi attempting a forced landing at the seashore in order to save his friend, and where Lt.Wakabayashi flies into a thunderhead to escape the pursuit of enemy planes. This well-planned combination paved the way for the success of Godzilla later the same year.
