In the year 1939, the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics has established a special training class to combat the No. 76 secret service of the Wang Jingwei regime. Childhood friends Chen Kehai and Fang Li join with the hopes of resisting Japan to save the country. However, their brutal experiences allow Chen Kehai to see through the true face of the bureau. After failing in their last assassination attempt, Chen and Fang are separated.

Two years later, Chen Kehai who has secretly become a member of the Communist party returns to Shanghai with a new mission to infiltrate No. 76. He is reunited with Fang Li who is now the head of No. 76. Faced with Chen Kehai whose personality has changed dramatically compared to the past, Fang Li repeatedly tries to test him and even places a female agent by his side. Alone in the enemy camp, Chen Kehai does not cower as he fights to transmit valuable intel to his party. At the same time, his actions push Fang Li's suspicions to the brink. After the war against Japan, the pair of former classmates enter into a final showdown to uphold their contrasting beliefs.

This is the story of four youngsters, a man and three women who will love him, who grew up together in Beijing and will go through the twists and turns in life.

In the winter of 1979, Yang Shu Mao returns home after graduating. He hopes to climb the social ladder and become a business to be at the level of his first love, Shi Xiao Na, a rich heiress. With that objective, he works with his childhood friend Zhao Ya Jing who's secretly in love with him. However, Shi Xiao Na always stepped in between them. But when Shi Xiao Na's father, considering Yan Shu Mao too humble to be his son-in-law, sanctions him, Yang Shu Mao realizes the social difference between him and Shi Xiao Na and drifts away from her.

Yang Shu Mao then realized that Ye Fei, his other childhood friend, is the most perfect partner for him. But his mother thinks otherwise, as she is much closer to Zhao Ya Jing and wants her as her daughter-in-law.

The drama tells the story of a group of online game experts. Because of a bug, they get drawn into the game. The border between the real world and the gaming world begins to blur.

Seeing how hungry Wu Xin looks she offers him her last bit of food. The two head to Wen County. To repay her act of kindness he follows her and promises that tonight the two will feast and have a place to stay. He uses his powers to search for evil spirits that intend to do harm to the living and rid them from the living world. Together the two set off pretending to be siblings to find whoever is in need of his services. At first, Yue Ya does not believe Wu Xin and thinks he is a con artist until she assists him in his first job to rid an angry evil spirit residing at the local warlord's home. As the two progress on their journey, friendship and then romance form between the two.
