Bo Young, who suffers from a rare disease that becomes dangerous if she is too emotional, meets Cheol Gi, a rural young man, and falls in love.

Ji Eun is the daughter of a wealthy chaebol family. She is bright, humorous, beautiful, and smart. Ji Eun meets Se Hoon, who runs a small furniture workshop. Unlike Ji Eun, Se Hoon comes from a poor family background. He was once the top student at a prestigious university, but he had to drop out due to his sick mother. Nevertheless, Ji Eun falls deeply in love with Se Hoon. She confesses her feelings to him. Se Hoon is also in love with Ji Eun, but he turns her down due to the extreme differences in their backgrounds. Eventually, Se Hoon is unable to bury his feelings any longer and they decide to marry. 10 years later, their lives have changed drastically. Ji Eun works as a housemaid and she struggles to support her family. She is also burdened by the debt left behind by her late father.

Meanwhile, Se Hoon as William Jang runs the successful U.S. cosmetic company Cosmetic Cherokee. He returns to South Korea.

And despite his heavy Jeolla Province dialect, he certainly has many charms, it's just that he's too damn picky (or is it the other way around?)! But all of a sudden he finds his perfect girl, a 29 year old announcer (Park Sun-Young) who will rock his world. Man, I bet her parents will love her new conquest. Story has been done to death, but this being a Weekend Drama (more time to develop characters, less incentive to use educational 'shocking revelations' to make viewers practice new swear words) and having such a good cast, we might be dealing with the closest thing to MBC's glorious mid-to-late 90s Weekend Dramas like ??? (Apartment) or (Roses & Beansprouts) in a while. Shows which took a predictable formula and just let the cast act it out for an enjoyable 50 to 60 Episodes.

Jin Sung then decides to give the stairs a go herself. When the 29th step appears she wishes that she could be the one who wins the ballet scholarship. When So Hee suffers the fate of death by falling down some steps and Jin Sung wins the ballet competition, Hae Ju goes back to the wishing stairs and calls for So Hee to come back to life. This then sets up the rest of the film that you will have to watch to find out what goes on.
