Shinsei Hospital stands towering over its surroundings in the suburbs. At one time, this hospital which has been deeply entrenched in the local community, was one loved by the people. Everything seemed to be going well for it until a wrench was thrown one winter night in 2015. An unidentified woman with no personal belongings and in the final weeks of pregnancy was rushed to the hospital. Furthermore, there was evidence that she had attempted suicide. As a result, an indescribable mood of disquiet began to hang in the air at the hospital. One winter night some 20 years, a pregnant woman who tried to commit suicide was rushed to Shinsei Hospital in the same way. Although she did not survive, the foetus was saved through a C-section. However, the hospital forged the medical records to make it seem as if the foetus was stillborn, and the newborn baby was given the name Eiko. Were these two incidents a pure coincidence? Or intentional? The doctor Komoto Hideaki, who is the son-in-law of Shinsei Hospital director Komoto Junichiro, entered the emergency room. But the moment he saw the unidentified woman’s face, his expression hardened. Imaizumi Nao, a nurse at the hospital, took care of her. However, the woman never said a word. Junichiro’s only daughter Mie, who is also Hideaki’s wife and the hospital’s head nurse, reacted adversely to the woman’s occasionally sinister smiles and tried to get her out. As the dots between the two incidents connect, the dark side of Shinsei Hospital is gradually revealed. Status, prestige, desire, jealousy and vengeance. The complex web of human relationships around the hospital along with crime to cover up crime sets the hospital on course to collapse. Back in 2015, Nao was suffering from a curse because that unidentified woman entrusted her with something. What is Nao’s fate now?

Nakagawa Saori is a chef apprentice at "Chez Nishijima", a prestigious French restaurant in Tokyo in year 2020. Ryuichi is very dedicated to cooking despite the limited ingredients and cooking utensils as compared to the present days. He shows Saori what is really important in cooking and what she lacks as a cook.

Mikoshiba Reiji is an attorney who will do anything to win with his unscrupulous ability. Kusakabe Yoko is a clerk who gets a job at his office. By accident, Yoko discovers that Mikoshiba committed a heinous crime as a boy. What is the meaning of justice? What is atonement?

Ichinose Ryo works as a salesperson for Hashiba Sales Service, a subsidiary of the mid-sized electronics manufacturer, Hashiba Electronics, which prides itself on its long history. One day, he is ordered to transfer to the company’s headquarters. Why him when he has no strong points? Hashiba Electronics designs products which its subsidiary is responsible for manufacturing. The group’s share of the market is now being lost to emerging foreign companies and it is in financial difficulty. The new company president, Matsumoto Kiyoomi, who has come from America, has his eye on Ichinose’s perseverance as a salesperson and intends to make a five-member team contemplate strategies to improve the management of the group. Ordered to submit a proposal, Ichinose and the members head to Vietnam in search of ideas for cost-cutting measures. He finds out about a new business plan, a license business in Vietnam. However, that is when he learns of the ongoing bribery behind the contract work between headquarters and subsidiary as a result of the license business. Ichinose’s former boss, Taki Shinsuke, is aware of this bribery, and had promised to keep quiet about it in exchange for a director’s position at Hashiba Electronics. Determined to push through reforms in order to correct company’s way of doing things and fulfil his own and the other members’ dreams, Ichinose gets close to but a series of big hurdles stand in his way.

Biblia Second-hand Bookstore has been quietly open for business in some corner of Kamakura.
