As it has done for ages, the Han River continues to pierce the very center of the capital city Seoul. But one day in the year 2000, through an unfortunate incident, a creature of an obscure nature is conceived in the waters of the river. As the creature slowly starts to grow in the depths of the river, people fail to sense signs of an impending disaster, devoting themselves to the Korea-Japan World Cup soccer finals, the Presidential elections and to their individual lives. Then, one day in 2005, in front of countless citizens taking a stroll and enjoying the weekend on the banks of the Han River, the creature reveals itself in a shocking display of horror and mass slaughter. In an instant, the riverbank is turned into a gruesome sea of blood. The main character Gang Du is a man who passes tedious days operating a snack bar next to the river. On that day of great destruction, he witnesses his one and only daughter eaten up by the creature right before his eyes. The sudden appearance unforeseen and unexpected circumstances render the government and state powerless to act. And the once-ordinary citizen Gang Du and his family are thrust into a battle with the monster to rescue Hyun Seo. On the banks of the river, which are completely closed off by the government and declared a danger zone, Gang Du and his family rush into an unstoppable showdown with the monster. ~~ Basic premise of "The Host" was derived by Bong Joon-Ho from the real life "McFarland Incident" in 2000 (a U.S. military employee discharged approximately 470 bottles of formaldehyde into the Han river).

This drama is based on the original webtoon “Dongnebyunhosa Jodeulho / 동네변호사 조들호” by Hatchling (해츨링) which was first published on 2013-March-03 via “comic.naver.com/webtoon“. The story of Jo Deul ho (Park Shin Yang) continues, about a once prosecutor turned lawyer who is currently unemployed. After a legal battle, his license is revoked for a short time, and he leaves the law for some peace of mind. Unbeknownst to him, he will not be left in peace.

For 10 idyllic years, young Mija has been caretaker and constant companion to Okja - a massive animal and an even bigger friend - at her home in the mountains of South Korea. But that changes when a family-owned multinational conglomerate Mirando Corporation takes Okja for themselves and transports her to New York, where image obsessed and self-promoting CEO Lucy Mirando (Tilda Swinton) has big plans for Mija's dearest friend. With no particular plan but single-minded in intent, Mija sets out on a rescue mission, but her already daunting journey quickly becomes more complicated when she crosses paths with disparate groups of capitalists, demonstrators and consumers, each battling to control the fate of Okja... while all Mija wants to do is bring her friend home.

"Okja" is a co-production between Korea, South Africa, and the USA.

A wealthy, elderly man who was born in North Korea and amassed a $100 million fortune in South Korea knows that his time is short. One day, he coincidentally learns that he had a son that he did not know of. The elderly man desperately tries to track down his son but learns that he died. However, the elderly man soon discovers that his son has a daughter who was also defected from North Korea and is currently living in South Korea. Now, the elderly man is seeking to find her whereabouts so that she can inherit his fortune. The story revolves around the long-lost family members and a South Korean man with a North Korean woman who is able to find love by overcoming their differences.

Woo-Jin is an ambitious doctor who no longer believes in true love, after having failed before. He views marriage as just a business. Hae-Soo works as an assistant chef. She dreams of getting married to the right man and having a family. Woo-Jin soon falls in love with her, he comes into conflict with love and ambition.

Young detectives, who suddenly change to 70-year-old men, struggle to regain their young bodies.

The idealistic Choi In Ha has her work cut out for her when she becomes a broadcast journalist, especially when she suffers from a condition known as “Pinocchio syndrome,” which makes her break out into hiccups whenever she tells a lie. Her rookie colleagues include Choi Dal Po, whose shabby appearance masks his true eloquence and sharp memory; Seo Bum Jo, a wealthy heir who has had everything handed to him in life; and Yoon Yoo Rae, whose fangirl knowledge comes in handy in covering the news. The 20-something newbie reporters pursue justice as they try to discover themselves in the process.

The disconnections of urban life. Yun-ju is diffident, almost without affect; his wife is pregnant, and he's wonders if he should bribe the dean to secure a professorship. He's also bothered by a yapping dog that disturbs him in the large block of flats where he lives. Hyeon-nam is equally disengaged; she's a bookkeeper at same block of flats, animated only when she learns of a lost dog. Over the course of a few weeks, three dogs in the building go missing - Yun-ju and Hyeon-nam have a connection to each. So might a janitor. Is it a man-eat-dog world? In the year 1919, Independence activist Joo-Hwan (Shin Hyun-Joon) carries out a mission with the help of geisha Sayuri (Kim Jung-Eun). Their mission is to throw a hand grenade onto the Japanese governor, but their mission fails. Sayuri's spy activity is disclosed by the Japanese army and they come to arrest her. Sayuri asks for time. She then wishes that Joo-Hwan and herself will be born again as a married couple in their next life and proceeds to kill herself. Joo-Hwan runs to her room and grabs her body. Crying, he wishes that they will be born again and live as a married couple. In the year 2012, Joo-Hwan and Sayuri become Soo-Nam (Shin Hyun-Joon) and Yeo-Ok (Kim Jung-Eun), who have been married for the past 12 years. Soo-Nam works as a hotel manager. He's thoughtful and dedicated at work, but patriarchal at home.Yeo-Ok becomes tired of her husband, demanding mother-in-law, lazy sister-in-law and her son who is now defiant. Finally, she declares that she is going on a strike as a housewife. Yeo-Ok especially wants her husband to respect her. She then tells her mother-in-law that they will be moving out of her home. Yeo-Ok then goes to the apartment that they own and currently rent out. She plans to inform her tenant that they will be moving into the apartment. Unfortunately, no one is at the apartment to answer the door. Out of curiosity, Yeo-Ok tries her old security code and is able to enter the apartment. Yeo-Ok looks around to see the condition of the apartment. Suddenly, Yeo-Ok hears someone coming into the apartment and hides in the bathroom. She peeks out of the bathroom and sees her tenant Victoria (Han Chae-Ah) with a man. Yeo-Ok is then shocked to see that the man is her own husband Soo-Nam!. Soo-Nam and Victoria work at the same hotel and they are having an affair.

In 1986, in the province of Gyunggi, in South Korea, a second young and beautiful woman is found dead, raped and tied and gagged with her underwear. Detective Park Doo Man and Detective Cho Yong Koo, two brutal and stupid local detectives without any technique, investigate the murder using brutality and torturing the suspects, without any practical result. Then Detective Seo Tae Yoon from Seoul comes to the country to help the investigations and is convinced that a serial killer is killing the women. When a third woman is found dead in the same "modus-operandi", the detectives find leads of the assassin.

Kim Bong Doo, a 'popular' elementary school teacher in Seoul, is a problem teacher who comes late to school more than the students and is scolded by the principal every day. He likes drinking better than preparing his courses, and he actively encourages and coaxes parents to offer money in exchange for his favouring their children. But one day, he finally gets caught in his own act and gets transferred to a school in the boondocks.

Ji Eun finds out her sister Hee Jung is the daughter of a famous fashion designer and takes over her place as a real daughter. Ji Eun loses her sense of morality as gets into deeper sin out of jealousy toward Hee Jung who also steals both Jun Ho and Young Min's heart. The fashion designer doesn't have the luxury of enjoying the love of her real daughter, Hee Jung when she dies of leukemia. Ji Eun at last realizes unconditional love of this fashion designer and Hee Jung's forgiveness toward her.
