Rewind to Wai Tak Shun’s childhood days and Tak Shun is devastated due to his father Wai King Yan’s death. He then has mood swings and loses interest in everything. He even completely forgets about his father. For Tak Shun’s sake, his mother Tse Mei Sheung and uncle Tse Tim Sing never mention King Yan’s death.

Fate brings Tak Shun and Fung Cho Yee, who is the daughter of some second-hand store owner, together. She notices Tak Shun seems to be able to detect the resonances of old things. Tak Shun and Cho Yee help many people deal with their worries as Tak Shun reveals hidden tales through bizarre objects in the store.

Tak Shun is led by some old object to eventually uncover the truth behind his father’s death, and he has to again endure the pain of yesteryear.

Living on the streets of Hong Kong, Chu Gam Chun claims that he is the Last Emperor of China. As social worker Fung Siu Yung follows his case, she gradually reveals his adventurous, absurd, legendary life devoted to pursing his love Yi Yung Yung. In the early 1930s, when he was still a youngster, Chu Gam Chun, along with his brother Chu Cheung Fun and friends Ng Do Ho and Nau Yuk Gon, compete in a firecracker scramble to earn money for him to marry Yi Yung Yung. Because of an accident, they not only miss out on the prize money, they also encounter strange people and events one after another. Ng Do Ho's sister Ng Do Yu is also implicated and becomes a social flower. Chu Gam Chun and his pals fail in the military and instead, become prisoners. They later end up in Shanghai. With the help of triad leader Nau Lik, Chu Gam Chun transforms into a powerful Shanghai tycoon. Although his heart still thinks about Yi Yung Yung, a missed opportunity causes the two of them to be separated again for forty years.

The drama is told in three separate folklore stories about love, lust, vanity, greed and selfishness.

Just as light seems to shine on Fong Ying again, darkness comes back into her life when Jinny finds out that Fong Ying was involve in an affair with her uncle in the past and Ben starts to suffer from hallucinations due to a brain tumor.

Ling Wan is a beautiful young girl who pretends to have an ugly face to prevent marrying. Her friend Chor Chor is not pretty looking either, therefore they became best friends. One day, Ling Wan accidentally saves the Emperor in disguise. He sees Ling Wan's real face and immediately falls in love with her. When he returns to the Imperial Palace, he could not get her off his mind so he sends someone to bring Ling Wan into the palace. Once Chor Chor realizes that Ling Wan's ugly face was fake and that the Emperor was bringing her into the palace she immediately goes find the "face changer", Siu To who she met beforehand in the village. Chor Chor makes Ling Wan unconscious and they switch faces. With now Ling Wan's face, Chor Chor takes her place and goes into the palace. The confused Ling Wan decides to travel to the palace alone to tell the Emperor the truth.

The series takes place a year after the 2nd installment.

Chan Siu Sang is single and all alone, his old love Chu So Ngo married the doctor that treated her son and left the police force. Then he meets Wai Ying Zi, a rookie police officer that is under Chan Sam Yuen Police Traffic Department unit. The two get off on the wrong foot due to misunderstandings. Wai Ying Zi who is eager to show off her skills seems to get into a lot of trouble. She is deemed reckless and rash. Later on, Ying Zi joins Siu Sang's CID unit which leads to the two bickering non-stop. After Siu Sang saves Ying Zi life on one of their investigations she learns to respect him and the two become friends. Chan Sam Yuen is promoted to the head of the Police Traffic Department. She and Ching Fung are also now parents to a pair of girl/boy twins, but their marriage is not as happy as it seems as the two continue to have quarrels in their marriage. With marital problems at home, Sam Yuen becomes a cold, unreasonable and mean boss at work. When a case similar to the psychotic serial rapist in the last series arises Sam Yuen starts feeling threaten and insecure even though the culprit Bao Gwok Ping is still locked up in jail. It seems Bao Gwok Ping has been communicating with someone on the outside who agreed to take on his split personality persona and continuing his crime spree. Due to Sam Yuen's carelessness her son is kidnapped and killed by the new culprit. This causes Sam Yuen and Ching Fung marriage to be in further jeopardy when he blames her for the death of their son.

His girlfriend, Ching Jan (Idy Chan) then get married with his best friend, Ling Fung (Wilson Lam). After going back to Hong Kong, Yin determined to modernize hi family's department store business. But the luck is not at his side, first, his elder brother Lok Man (Hui Siu Hung) and sister-in-law (Ma Qing-yi) are killed in a traffic accident. Then his father is died because of heart attack.

It tells the stories of the silly antics that happen to the family (along with their neighbors and friends) with majority of them being cops.
