As a result of a traffic accident involving a violation of the centerline, the perpetrator dies, and the victim falls into a coma. After some time, the wife of the perpetrator, Hee Joo, returns. Hee Joo is bewildered at the fact that the victim’s wife Young Nam is also working at the factory where she goes to work. By accident, Hee Joo becomes close with Young Nam’s daughter Eun Young and learns a new fact about the incident. The true nature of this accident, where Hee Joo’s husband was known to have crossed over the centerline, is actually very complicated. Since the social issues of dispatched labor and industrial accidents and personal issues of depression and family trouble are intertwined here, it is more difficult to apprehend. Black Light focuses on the relationship between two women facing great misfortune. As the truth about the incident slowly reveals, the two women in tense conflict seems to realize that the source of the pain did not originate from each other. That will not ease the pain, but it is clear that hating each other will not solve the problem. The impressive last scene shows that this is the destiny of being the companion.

Go Joo Yeon is a self-centered star actress who has always gotten what she wants: fame, money, and even good-looking young boyfriends. However, now in her 40s and with her acting career going downhill, she wonders whether she should settle down with her secret boyfriend, who is 12 years younger than her. However, the boyfriend, a rookie actor, is only interested in taking advantage of her fame, cheating on her behind her back. Discovering the truth, Joo Yeon is devastated that she has no one who she can truly rely on. So she decides to have someone definite in her life, her own baby.

She goes to see an obstetrician only to learn that she has reached menopause. While facing the depressing truth, she comes across a pregnant teenager Kim Dan Ji at the hospital. Joo Yeon makes the offer to Dan Ji that she will adopt the baby at whatever price, and will support her until she delivers. Dan Ji, who needs the money, accepts the offer and agrees to stay hidden at Joo Yeon’s home. When Joo Yeon makes a press announcement of her pregnancy, in vengeance against her ex-boyfriend, who has become a rising star, rumors start to spread about who the father is. She declares that she will be a single mom and her dignified demeanor earns her numerous jobs making her more successful than ever. Dazzled by the new phase in her career, Joo Yeon begins to neglect Dan Ji, but worse, people are now getting suspicious.

Hae-Gwan's (Lee Sung-Min) daughter Yoo-Joo (Chae Soo-Bin) is missing. People around him tell him that his daughter died in the fire that took place at a subway station in Daegu, but Hae-Gwan refuses to believe she is dead. To find Yoo-Joo, he goes everywhere and anywhere. One day, he receives a phone call that the caller saw Yoo-Joo on an island. Hae-Gwan goes to that island, but he can't find her there. At night, Hae-Gwan sits on rocks by the sea. He sees a light fall into the ocean and he is then swept by big waves. Hae-Gwan then finds himself on the beach. He sees something unusual and first believes it is a landmine. It turns out it is actually an AI satellite robot which saves every conversation made on a phone. Hae-Gwan thinks he can find his daughter with the help of the robot. He names the robot Sori ("Voice").

Yoon Yeong Hwa, once a top, national news anchor, gets demoted to radio news. One day, a call comes in during his radio show threatening to blow up Mapo Bridge. While it is brushed off as a prank call, the bridge ends up getting blown to pieces just 10 minutes later. To get his career back on track, Yoon tries to grab an exclusive live broadcast. The terrorist demands a hefty sum in exchange and the exclusive gets aired. The terrorist reveals he is one of the construction workers of Mapo Bridge and demands the President’s apology for his coworkers who died on the job. However, the government dismisses the demands, and the terrorist strikes again. While efforts to convince both the government and the terrorist go awry, Yoon realizes there is a bomb rigged on him and falls in sheer terror.
