Genius profiler Lee Hyun, returns home to Korea after something from a case he’s been sent triggers a memory he thought he’d lost forever. This drama is about the life of the fourth king of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea, King Sejong who is considered the greatest king in Korean history for creating Hangul, the Korean alphabet and having many skilled followers such as Jang Yeong-sil. The Great King Sejong is a full scale politic drama describing how King Sejong and his loyal retainers cooperate and contrive to make his dynasty a better place. While King Sejong was in throne, the Chosun Dynasty enjoyed the most fortunate and happy age ever.

PD Baek Seung Chan decided to work at the entertainment division of KBS television network because of his secret crush on a KBS employee. On his his first day on the job, PD Baek Seung Chan goes through training, but has a difficult time with PD Tak Ye Jin. PD Tak Ye Jin is the producer of music program "Music Bank."

Eun Jae was a stubborn and head-strong girl who had a passion for cooking. She did not have any interest in going to college and with the help of her hig school friend, Jung Hyun Sung (Lee Chun Hee)ran away to Italy to enroll in a cooking school. Jung Hyun Sung who loved her dearly went along with her.Han Yi-Joon came from a wealthy family. He travelled to Italy looking for his mother and there he ran into Eun Jae, who had also been seeking the same person to learn the secrets to making great pasta. She comforted Yi-Joon, who was distraught over his mother's remarrying, and they ended up making love. Yi Joon left Eun Jae the next morning over some misunderstanding. Han Da Jin and Kim Yoon Sung start to work together as captain and co-pilot, but Han Da Jin's way to become a successful captain is not guaranteed as Kim Yoon Sung wants to teach her the basics from the start. Also on the way of Han Da Jin's success is Kang Dong Soo, a flight tower manager who first brings the not pretty side in Han Da Jin.

Several years ago Kong-Sil (Kong Hyo-Jin) was involved in an accident. Since that incident, Kong-Sil is able to see and hear ghosts. She's also terrified of the ghosts that appear constantly around her. Because of this, she's unable to live a normal life. Kong-Sil lives in a rooftop room at an extended stay inn. She makes a living by doing odd jobs at the inn, including cleaning.

Meanwhile Joong-Won (So Ji-Sub) is the president of an extravagant shopping mall named Kingdom. He is also arrogant and calculative. Everything relates to him in terms of money.

One raining evening, Kong-Sil goes to room 404 to clean, but she sees another ghosts. She freaks out and runs up to her rooftop room. The ghost, who looks like an old woman, appears right next to her again. Kong-Sil then does the old woman ghost a favor and goes to her home. She hands the ghost's son a bankbook with more than 10,000 dollars in the account.

Joong-Won sits face to face with a man who owns land that he needs to build a golf course. The man tells Joong-Won that his deceased wife does not want him to sell the land. Joong-Won doesn't believe in ghosts and ignores him. He pulls out a contract which the man's children already signed. Joong-Won is able to get the man's signature.

On his way back from that meeting, Joong-Won is driven by his assistant (Choi Jung-Woo). The driver then sees a woman thumbing for a ride. Joong-Won tells his driver to ignore the woman, but a light suddenly shines on them and the car stops. At this time, Kong-Sil hops into the car and thanks them for picking her up. Kong-Sil unintentionally touches Joong-Won and feels something unusual. Later, the car pulls over at a highway rest stop. While walking back to the car, Joong-Won sees Kong-Sil talking to someone, but there isn't anyone else there. Thinking she might be crazy, Joong-Won turns around, but Kong-Sil grabs his arm. She discovers that whenever she touches him, the ghosts around her disappear.

Back at her rooftop room, Kong-Sil is terrified by the ghosts around her as usual. She thinks back to Joong-Won and how the ghosts disappeared when she touched him. Kong-Sil decides to go Kingdom shopping mall to meet Joong-Won again.

Her professional skills of pretense and deceit easily got Young-ju out on parole. On a train to attend her sister's wedding, she runs into Hee-chul, a man in love with a girl he is just about to propose to.

By some bad? or perhaps good? luck Young-ju and Hee-chul run into each other and she mistakes Hee-chul as a bum trying to molest her. Their first chance encounter turns out quite embarrassing. On top of that a pickpocket steals Hee-chul's engagement ring! Young-ju is worried that she might be accused of the theft, so she sets out to bring him back the ring. Amidst the hassle, she is left behind on the platform. The train has left, carrying away her own luggage. And all that she has with her is the ring. What she needs is her luggage back. What she doesn't need is to be accused of theft. Young-ju finds her way to Hee-chul's home and the family seeing the ring thinks she is Hee-chul's fiancee! To wiggle herself out of the situation without adding another crime onto her record, she uses the skills of her profession and cons everyone into believing indeed she is the one.

Meanwhile, our poor Hee-chul returns home without proposing to his girl for lack of the ring, and finds that his family, in fact the whole town now blame him for deserting an innocent woman. Surprise! Surprise!

Now the bout is on between deceit and truth. Conwoman-turned-fiancee of the town's pharmacist vs. the pharmacist framed for rejecting a faithful woman.

A young man here is dreaming about his future. He needs to do whatever task lying in front of him to earn his living, yet he is running fast to dream and to love. Whenever he is sprinting, he is so full of energy that he forgets about his poverty and his dark family background. The world might jeer at him but he does not care.

She is rather special. She is very well aware of her charms and is highly self-reliant. The most unfamiliar word to her is "failure" because she has never faced failure in her life since the world was always on her side. She conquered whatever she intended and she dumped whatever she thought unnecessary. However, she just cannot deny the love that is to determine her destiny. She is like an open-hearted prairie, young and gleaming.

They love each other and the love changes both of their lives; they run towards the uneasy future.
