When Kim Ji Yong was a child, his mother was beaten to death in the street. The culprit only received three and half years in prison. Kim Ji Yong—now an adult—sees that his mother's killer hasn't changed at all. Ji Yong takes matters into his own hands and beats him brutally.

Subsequently, Kim Ji Yong begins living two entirely different lives. On weekdays, he's a model student at the police university. During the weekends, he punishes criminals who'd recieved light sentences and continue to commit criminal acts. Now called Vigilante, Ji Yong receives help from admirer Cho Kang Ok. Meanwhile, Detective Cho Heon chases after the man called Vigilante.

Koo Do Han, a former lawyer turned detective, is on a quest to uncover the truth behind an unsolved crime from the past. He investigates current cases to piece together clues to find the perpetrator. Along his journey, he encounters Cheon Na Yeon, an eager reporter, and No Sang Cheon, a con artist. Together, they work to unravel the truth and bring justice to the case.

To avenge the murder of his family, a man goes to Sura Island, a prison for dangerous criminals where dangerous criminals are housed.

Dong Chul and Ji Soo are a happily married couple. Dong Chul was once a notorious gangster, but he has changed his ways. One day, Dong Chul comes to home to find his house in disarray and his wife missing. Dong Chul then receives a phone call from someone offering to pay him to give up his wife. Dong Chul vows to save his wife.

Ma Seok-do works as a detective squad chief. His team struggles to bust a criminal ring who originally came from Yanbian, China and led by Jang Chen.

Meanwhile, Eul Soo, a member of a secret assassin group, receives orders to kill Jeong Jo. Gap Soo, who had also been in the same secret assassin ring as Eul Soo, later confesses to Jeong Jo about his dark past and his motive for coming into the palace. To Gap Soo’s surprise, Jeong Jo asks Gap Soo when he had given up being an assassin, then orders him to just leave the palace. However, Gap Soo finds out that there is another assassin besides him and frantically returns to the court, only to discover Eul Soo in combat with Jeong Jo.
