Lee Hong Jo is the lowest grade civil servant. She always does her best at work, even though she suffers from many civil complaints. In her personal life, she is used to being alone. One day, she happens to become the owner of an old wooden chest and the key to lift a curse from Jang Shin Yu.

Jang Shin Yu is a competent lawyer who is smart and good-looking. He is usually in the spotlight wherever he goes, but he suffers from an unexplained disease. His condition gets progressively worse. He is desperate to lift the curse that has run through his family for generations.

A few years later, the twin son Lee Hwi dies due to a disease. To hide her twin son's death, the mother brings back the daughter and raises her as Prince Lee Hwi. Lee Hwi eventually becomes a crown prince. Fearing that her real identity will be revealed, Lee Hwi is unable to have anyone close to her and hides her emotions from others, making biting remarks. Jung Ji Woon is a teacher from the Crown Prince sikangwon, a government office for the sole purpose of educating crown princes. He is described as a handsome man who is bold, persevering, and tenacious, but also tends to take life as it comes and lives free from worldly concerns as an optimist who enjoys life. As the son of a government official in the Saheonbu (an investigative government office), his future seemed clearly set out for him. However, there was a reason that he chose to go his own path and leave the easy road behind.

Yeo Ji is damo at the Saheonbu. She investigates cases enthusiastically. She has a talent for martial arts and foreign languages. Yeo Ji is the best investigator at the Saheonbu, including the male investigators. Park Moon Soo has been preparing for his exam to become a public officer. He is not very smart and has difficulty with the exam, but he is honest and tender to other people. Dal Moon is a famous clown. He is good at martial arts.

Some people like to stay at home doing absolutely nothing. These particular type of people are referred to as a “Homebody”. However, a number of these homebody celebrities join the show to stay together and spend their holidays with each other. Xiumin of EXO, Kang Daniel of Wanna One, Loco, Tak Jae Hoon, Chang Kiha, Lee Pil Mo, Lee Yi Kyung, and Kim Min Seok move into the same house. Will they be able to get along together?

Jin-Hee led a satisfying life as a dietitian. She then met medical school student Chang-Min. Despite his wealthy family's strong opposition, Jin-Hee and Chang-Min decided to get married. Chang-Min's family is full of doctors. Chang-Min though gave up his medical internship and began working as a pharmaceutical salesman. Their marriage life was not happy. Chang-Min's family looked down on Jin-Hee and even Chang-Min seemed to change. Chang-Min began to think terribly of Jin-Hee and they finally divorced. After their divorce, Jin-Hee became a medical student and now works as an intern. Chang-Min also graduated from medical school and begins to work as an intern. One day, they meet in the emergency room for a hospital where they will both work together.

Storyline covers periods from the 1960s to the present day. Various historical incidents like the Vietnam War, May 16 military coup d'etat and the assassination of Korean President Park Chung Hee.

Ki Tae, described as Korea's first entertainer. Ki Tae debuted at an American military base stage and worked in the show business during the 1960s. Ki Tae is the son of the richest man in Soonyang. He works at a cinema, which is one of several businesses owned by his father, but he is more interested in having fun than work. Ki Tae is just a troublemaker to his father. One day his father checks his account book and finds that some numbers are missing. Ki Tae explains that he invested 10,000,000 won on making a movie to show in the cinema on Korean Thanksgiving Day. His father stipulates that this is the last chance for Ki Tae.

Song Jin Poong is the eldest of four sons and works hard to earn money to support his family. He is also a man who cannot forget his first love. His mother, Ok Hee, wants him to get married because he is already 38 years old. Ok Hee believes that her sons are great catches and any woman would be lucky enough to marry them, however, their neighbors feel differently as each son has an unique problem.

Jang Sae Byuk is a a girl who tries to find a new meaning in life after she receives an eye cornea transplant from the doctor that took care of her after her accident. That doctor, Kim Na Young, died in a car accident on her way back from Africa. Sae Byuk becomes close with the Na Young's family after finding them. The family slowly accepts her as part of the family. Kang Ho Se and Kim Tae Poong, Na Young's twin brother, have disliked each other since they were young kids. This is mostly Tae Poong hates Ho Se because Ho Se's family was rich and because Tae Poong's father was Ho Se's father's driver and his mother was the maid.

Jo Mi Jin is a new employee of an apparel company who later then becomes the daughter-in-law of a family running a pork hock restaurant with a 60-year-old tradition. Lee Bok Soo, the eldest son of the family, is a planning director at the company Mi Jin works at.

The drama will revolve around the life of a new-generation daughter-in-law. Things get complicated when Mi Jin's older brother, In Woo, falls for Bok Soo's younger sister, Bok Nam, and they decide to get married. How will both families adjust to being in-laws with each other again?
