Three warriors from the Goryo Dynasty, Poong Chun, Deok Ki and Seol Rang pledge to fight for the impoverished people under the incompetent king and they lead a riot. However, due to Deok Ki's betrayal, Poong Chun dies and Seol Rang, as stricken by guilt, flees with Poong Chun's sword and his infant daughter, Hong Yi.

Kwak Jin-Bae (Jin Goo) is a gang member who lost his father in the Gwangju Democratization Movement. He wants to get revenge. Shim Mi-Jin (Han Hye-Jin) is a shooter from the national team. She is the shooter for the covert team. Policeman Kwon Jung-Kyuk (Im Seul-Ong) lost his family in the Gwangju Democratization Movement. He is now responsible for the cars that have access to the ex-president's house.

The Korean war does not start well for the US. They are being routed by the North Koreans and despite US reinforcements from Tokyo, the US army is making a hasty disorganized retreat to the southern-most city of Pusan. On the path to Pusan is the village of Jogunri, near the village of Nogunri. The US Army orders all the villagers out of Jogunri, warning them that the North Korean army is coming. Some 500 villagers make their way, children on their backs, leading ox carts laden with belongings. But word is circulating among the US forces that Northern soldiers may be hiding among the civilian refugees. As the Jogunri villagers approach Nogunri, an American airplane suddenly swoops in and strafes and bombs the civilians, killing many. In the ensuing chaos, the US soldiers force the remaining 400 villagers into a cave under a bridge. The US soldiers then open fire. In the end, only 25 manage to survive the massacre.

In Korea, 1970s was the dark ages of military autocratic regime as well as an era of revolutionary upheaval of pop culture lead by energetic youth. After performing in shabby clubs in a town hosting a U.S. military base, Sang-kyu, a singer, and Man-sik, a guitarist, form Devils, a rock group of six members They participate in a vocal band contest in Seoul. They make a strong impression with a shocking yet amusing performance. Devils achieve stardom playing at a Go-Go dance club called Nirvana. Mimi, who had followed them to Seoul, also becomes a fashion icon with her dance moves and stylish clothes. However, their heydays dont last long. One of their members dies from a fire at the club, and due to oppressive rule of military dictatorship, the clubs close down and they cant perform anymore. In despair, Sang-kyu plans a passionate concert again called Devils Recital.

The drama about the love life of an old maid, Oh Eun Joo. She has been working at a book publishing company for seven years. Eun Joo forms a love triangle with Tae Oh and Young Soo. Tae Oh is younger than Eun Joo by seven years and Young Soo is a businessman who Eun Joo meets on a blind date. Eun Soo is reluctant in letting Tae Oh meet her friends because of their huge age gap. This causes a rift in their relationship because Tae Oh thinks that Eun Soo doesn't take him seriously. At the same time, Eun Soo continues to see Young Soo and there's something about him that draws her closer to him.

Leaving the country orphanage where he grew up, Su Min heads to Seoul to study design. Disenhearted after several difficult projects, he opts to work as a host in a gay bar. Na Young works at a post office and is sick and tired of being around her shamefully unyielding mother and her pushover father who's excessively nice. The postman, who rides a bicycle with his glittering eyes, is none other than her father, Kim Jin Kook.

After falling into this mysterious world, Na Young gets tangled up in the middle of the love that unfolds between her mother and father.
