Kankuro Haruhara is a research officer at the Meteorological Research Institute. With his handsome appearance and fresh smile, he appears on the weather segment of a news program. He is also a chief at the SDM (Special Disaster Management) Headquarters, whose purpose is to protect lives from weather disasters.

While he is excellent at his work and possesses a vast knowledge of meteorology, he is often resented by his colleagues at work due to making biting remarks. Because of Kankuro’s passion and straightforward mindset on saving lives, he eventually changes how his colleagues view him. Kankuro tries to make SDM Headquarters the best that it can be, and he also chases after a mystery.

He was convicted for nine murders and received the death penalty. Back when Haimura was committing his murders, he ran a bakery store. At that time, Masaya was a middle-school student and a customer at his bakery store. According to the letter, Haimura confesses to having committed eight murders, but he insists that he did not commit the last murder. Masaya begins to investigate the last murder case involving Haimura.

He eventually became a founder or supporter to about 500 companies and was involved with about 600 public services, including education for women.

Aoi Minase is in her 40's. She works as a popular writer of romance novels. She is also a single mother, who raised her daughter alone. Her daughter is now 20-years-old. Due to Aoi Minase's success as a romance novelist, Aoi lives with her daughter in an upscale high-rise apartment building. Aoi is worried about her daughter. Her daughter doesn't have a boyfriend. A series of suspicious death cases take place. All the victims were terminal patients. Detective Hayato Inukai and Detective Asuka Takachiho investigate the case.
