    A love story between Snow Women sisters and a male high school student.

    Saki Fuyuki (Tina Tamashiro) is a female high school student, but she comes from a family that has the blood of Snow Woman. To revive her family, she is expected to have a baby with Ryunosuke Shiba (Junki Tozuka). He is the prince of the most powerful family in the human world, but Saki is attracted to Rei Ando (Ryusei Yokohama). Rei Ando possesses a warm personality that Ryunosuke Shiba lacks. His family has served for Ryunosuke Shiba's powerful family for generations. Rei Ando is also human unlike Saki Fuyuki.

    Meanwhile, Koyuki (Yuna Taira) is Saki Fuyuki’s younger sister. She is a middle school student, but enters the high school where Saki attends. Koyuki struggles to protect her older sister.

    The story follows a family of Japanese immigrants who crossed over to America 99 years ago. Kusanagi plays both the young Hiramatsu Chokichi (later taken over by Nakai) and his son, Ichiro. When the war breaks out the Japanese immigrants face racism and segregation. Ichiro pledges his alliance to America and gets sent to Europe, second son Jiro stays back with Ichiro's beloved Shinobu (who he has a crush on) and tries to protect his parents' farm. Their two sisters Shizu and Sachie are sent back to Japan and have to experience the horrors of war, one in Hiroshima and the other in Okinawa.

    The 45th NHK Taiga Drama is Komyo ga Tsuji.

    Kazutoyo lived during the end of the Sengoku period (1546-1605). He was the first feudal lord of the fief of Tosa on the island of Shikoku. He served Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

    Chiyo (1557-1617) was his wife, and was known in history for her dedication and devotion to her husband (like Matsu was to Toshiie in Toshiie to Matsu). She is the daughter of a samurai who served the feudal lord Asai.
