18 years later, the female warrior is now blind and she trains the young woman in martial arts. Soon Seol Rang reveals that she is the one who killed her parents. Hong Yi falls in utter shock, leaves Seol Rang and plans to get revenge on both her and Deok Ki, by now the most powerful man in the country. Soon blood will be shed.

Childhood friends Jong Dae and Yong Ki struggled to get by, until their shanty homes are demolished by local thugs. Jong-Dae (Lee Min-Ho) and Yong-Ki (Kim Rae-Won) grew up in an orphanage like real brothers. After they leave the orphanage, they make a living by picking up paper and empty bottles. Jong-Dae then becomes involved in a struggle of interests over development in Gangnam, Seoul. In the process, he lives with Gil-Soo (Jung Jin-Young) and Sun-Hye (Seol Hyun) as they accept Jong-Dae like a family member. Jong-Dae also becomes a gang member.

In the year 1597, when the Joseon Dynasty faces imminent ruin by the Japanese, disgraced Admiral YI Sun Shin is summoned as a last resort to lead the kingdom’s remaining 12 ships and an army of doubtful soldiers against the Emperor’s 330 strong fleets.

The release of the film inspired controversy because the family of the father's victims did not support its production. In its first week on release it topped the South Korean box office sales charts.

Tae Soo tries to steal from a gang. The gang catches Tae Soo's brother, Tae Jin, instead. The incident causes the brothers to separate. Tae Soo becomes a mob fixer and an assassin.
