Many people die as the old-fashioned tenement Wai Lei Building abruptly collapses. Engineer Sze Kwong has conducted a survey of the building. He arbitrarily investigates the incident as he reckons the building collapse is shrouded in intrigue. While the incident is being unraveled, Sze Kwong’s girlfriend Cheung Man, who is some property developer’s lawyer, dies in a traffic accident. And then his younger half-sister Auyeung Ka Shun, who has the same father, meets her death. Sze Kwong is also silenced. Sze Kwong comes round and surprisingly returns to somewhere in time before the building collapses as the deity has given him a chance to live again! Sze Kwong suspects the building collapse has something to do with property developer Hong Wing Yan and his mentor Ying Yiu Wa. He also wants to prevent the disaster from happening. To avoid implicating Cheung Man and Ka Chun, Sze Kwong decides not to recognize his younger sister to start with, and he also does not go out with Cheung Man. He just covertly watches over the duo.

Man Koon Brewery is a century-old soy sauce maker in Foshan. The motto of patriarch Man Kai-shan (Hugo Ng) and his wife Tsik Tak-yung (Mimi Kung) is “Male succession and keep it in the family”. However, because of a contaminated soy sauce incident, they just have to let two women, namely, Ha Siu-moon (Rebecca Zhu) and Ip Sai-yiu (Katy Kung), join the business. The duo and their son Man Cheuk-fung (Matthew Ho) become fellow apprentices. Junior master Wah Ko (James Ng) gets involved with the trio, resulting in an intriguing foursome. Meanwhile, everybody gets anxious as certain secrets about the Mans are revealed and Cheuk-fung is abruptly taken away. At the brewery, Kai-shan’s younger brothers Kai-shek (Timothy Cheng), Kai-tsun (Gary Chan) and Kai-kong (Tsui Wing) want to divide the family fortune. And even outsider General Ko Shiu-wing (Andrew Yuen) is plotting to get his hands on a piece of the pie. With a 100-year history, Man Koon Brewery’s future is in doubt as it gets into such a precarious situation.

Law Lai Jing's love life has been full of thorns. She is over 40 years old and still busy dealing with her ex-boyfriend's debts of gratitude. After recovering from a long term illness, semi-retired popular singer Wah Fong Ying realizes that she has lived an unfulfilled life. With two failed marriages and estranged relationships with all of her children she lives a lonely life. Wanting to mend her relationship with her oldest daughter who resides in Taiwan, she travels there and meets Hong Kong photographer Ben Law, who is a fan of her. Ben is in Taiwan to fulfill his late wife's wish to have her remains returned to her ancestral home. Romance sparks between the two and soon each becomes the other's strength and support. Realizing that throughout her career she has never sung for her loved ones and with Ben's encouragement, Fong Ying decides to hold a last concert for her friends and family, but her daughter Tong Yan rejects her invitation to attend. Fong Ying proceeds on working on her concert and hires assistant Jinny Szeto and creative director Sean Song to help her produce the concert. Just as light seems to shine on Fong Ying again, darkness comes back into her life when Jinny finds out that Fong Ying was involve in an affair with her uncle in the past and Ben starts to suffer from hallucinations due to a brain tumor.
