During the chaotic period after the collapse of the Qing Dynasty and the encroaching of Japanese forces, a mysterious magician Zhang Xian (Tony Leung) arrived at a town governed by General Lei Daniu (Lau Ching Wan). Anxious to win the affections of his seventh concubine Liu Yin (Zhou Xun), General Lei arranged a private performance at the theater that Zhang Xian is performing. Unbeknownst to General Lei, Zhang Xian was Liu Yin's fiancé who have left for overseas studies many years ago and is now back to rescue her.

Chan Wing Yan, a young police officer, has been sent undercover as a mole in the local mafia. Lau Kin Ming, a young mafia member, infiltrates the police force. Years later, their older counterparts, Chen Wing Yan and Inspector Lau Kin Ming, respectively, race against time to expose the mole within their midst.

Despite bearing Wong Jing's name, this fluffy comedy is pretty good for wacky Hong Kong fare. Richard Ng is the lonely widower father who schemes with son Jimmy Lin to get his three daughters married. He pretends to have testicle cancer, so the three daughters all try to bring home boyfriends (albeit fake ones) to placate their “dying” father. Brigitte Lin is a tough HK cop (named Ching Siu-Tung, get it?) who brings home the King of Gigolo Karaoke Tony Leung Ka-Fai. Social worker Maggie Cheung brings home wacky triad guy Jackie Cheung. And youngest sister Chingmy Yau brings home a twenty-seven year-old virgin (Dior Cheng) who she roped in by pretending to be a poor hooker. Yeah, that sounds about right. As is usual with Wong Jing, there are lots of gags, movie parodies, goofy acting, and general silliness, but it isn't oppressive like in his other movies. Maggie Cheung is winning and weird as "nice" sister Nam, and Tony Leung Ka-Fai is hilarious in another of his terrific comedy performances. Sandra Ng appears in a cameo and gets to beat up Jimmy Lin, which is always a welcome sight. This is a surprisingly funny wackfest despite many Hong Kong-specific jokes that would only confuse the rest of us. (review from lovehkfilm.com)

A movie that combines the stunning art of Chinese drumming with Triad dealings? This compelling story follows Sid, a reckless rascal who is raised in a Hong Kong triad family. He flees to Taiwan upon enraging a mob boss. Hiding out in the mountains, he encounters and joins a group of drummers whose mesmerising art, rigorous physical training, and austere way of life eventually transform him into an extraordinary young man. Sid's independence from the triad life is profoundly challenged, however, when a twist of fate awaits him back home in Hong Kong and forces him to choose between loyalty to his family and his new found faith in himself.

During the time Hong Kong was under British rule, there was a dark age when corruption and bribery were the order of the day. Chinese Chief Inspector Lak (Tony Leung Ka-fai) together with his gang, Unicorn (Anthony Wong), Gale (Eason Chan) and Gold (Wong Jing) laundered massive sums thereby making Hong Kong an empire of graft. Whenever they failed to apprehend the felons, Unicorn would get innocent victims, like Bong (Alex Fong), to admit to the crimes. Gale had nine "wives", all of them were actually mistresses of other constables, only Lily (Kate Tsui) was loyal to him, but Gale was fascinated by the female drug lord, Rose (Liu Yang). Lak was found having an affair with Unicorn's mistress (Natalie Meng Yao). Unicorn beat up Lak and was demoted to stand guard at a reservoir. In the early 1970s, the Governor of Hong Kong decided to clean up the police force. The ICAC was established, whose operation branch was headed by Yim (Bowie Lam). Bong and Unicorn also joined the ICAC. Despite threats of violence and intimidation, they managed to bring about the downfall of the empire of graft.

The story takes place on an ancient mountain – Black Mountain, when a group of workers come to construct a road, causing the ancient spirits, ghosts and humans to enter into conflict. Rumors of spirits causing trouble prompt the workers to leave the mountain, leaving only a hardworking young man by the name of Ning Cai Chen, a strong believer of science to stay on to construct the road for the villagers. However, an incident in Ning Cai Chen’s childhood is a memory he is afraid to recall – the sight of his father dying in the hands of an evil spirit. Xiao Qian is a young leopard cat spirit eager to outshine the grand fox spirit to gain the respect of the powerful century tree spirit. She volunteers to get rid of Ning Cai Chen only to realize that they share an intertwined fate and finds herself saving him instead. The old ghost hunter Summer Snow Wind Lightning sets foot upon the mountain to stop the spirits from creating mischief and to chase Ning Cai Chen off the mountain as he is afraid that the seal laid down on the mountain by his master will be destroyed. The spirit of Black Mountain will then be released and it will be catastrophic for mankind. Filled with hatred, the Black Mountain Spirit seeks to take revenge on mankind and swears to kill all couples in love. Hailing from a rich family, Ip Man devoted his life to practicing Wing Chun in the city of Foshan. When Gong Baosen, Chairman of the Chinese Martial Artists Union, decides to mark his retirement with a sparring match in Foshan, Ip is thrust into the limelight as Baosen's chosen opponent.

Despite objections by Baosen's daughter Gong Er, Baosen goes ahead with the match and and breaks his family's unbeaten record with a rare loss. Gong Er manages to save her family honor by winning a rematch against Ip, and the two even strike up an unspoken bond in the process.

However, the Sino-Japanese War breaks out, causing Ip to lose his family fortune and Baosen's disciple Ma San to turn to the Japanese for self-preservation. While Ip struggles to care for his family, Gong Er makes a major sacrifice in the name of revenge.

Four men pursue courtesans during the late 1880s in Shanghai. The courtesans, Crimson, Pearl, Emerald, Jasmin and Jade, reside in elegant brothels called "Flower Houses". One suiter, Wang leaves Crimson to pursue the younger Jasmin.

Tony Leung Ka Fai and Danny Lee star in the 1990 police thriller Blue Lightning. A heady mix of murder mystery and compelling drama, the film is directed by Raymond Lee, who went on to make Dragon Inn and Swordsman III: East is Red in the following years. Tony Leung and Danny Lee portray cops with clashing personalities embroiled in a murder investigation. The film also co-stars Olivia Cheng, Lau Siu Ming, and talented child actor Huang Kun Hsuan.

When model Jody and her boyfriend are brutally murdered in their apartment, the case falls into the hands of Superintendent Chung (Tony Leung) and rookie cop Tit Nam (Cheng Wai Lun). With the help of alcoholic ex-husband Lam (Danny Lee), a former cop who left the force after divorce, they locate Jody's ex-roommate Ellen (Olivia Cheng), but she refuses to cooperate. Lam and Chung are also having trouble cooperating with each other as they have very different investigating methods and frequently derail into argument. As they fumble for answers, the murderer moves in to silence Ellen.

The story of three childhood friends Ben, Paul and Frank who cruise the streets of Hong Kong circa 1967 and are members of a gang. Defiant and proud, they're also fiercely loyal to their families and each other, and will engage in street fist fights and other assorted lengths to prove it. When Ben decides to marry girlfriend Jane, Frank and Paul secure a loan to pay for the wedding banquet, but Frank is attacked by the local gang. Bloodied, he still arrives at the banquet with the money, but Ben isn't satisfied with letting things go. He goes after the responsible parties, and accidentally leaves one dead.

With the law after him, Ben is forced to flee to Saigon with his two friends. The three are supposed to deliver some illegal goods to a Mr. Leong, but things quickly go awry. The goods are lost in a terrorist bombing, and protesters and North Vietnamese sympathizers are shot without pity. Luckily, they have a contact: Eurasian mercenary Luke who helps the boys square things with Mr. Leong, but they're not satisfied with just completing their deal. Conflicts concerning money, love and friendship reveal the true personalities of the three.

Seen through the prism of the Lin family, this complex family drama from Taiwanese master Hou Hsiao Hsien details a brief but crucial moment in Taiwanese history between 1945, when 50 years of Japanese colonial rule came to an end, and 1949, when Chiang Kai-shek's Nationalist Kuomintang forces established a government-in-exile after the Communist army captured mainland China. The film opens with the reedy voice of Emperor Hirohito announcing Japan's surrender as the eldest of the Lin clan's four sons awaits the birth of his child in a coastal town not far from Taipei. Soon afterward, he changes the name of his Japanese decorated bar to "Little Shanghai" and begins trading in the post-war black market. The second son has died in Philippines during the war. The third son, who had a nervous breakdown in Shanghai, starts to consort with Shanghaiese drug dealers upon his return to Taiwan. Once the eldest learns of the third's dealings, he forces him to stop. In retaliation, the Shanghaiese mob arranges for the third son to be imprisoned on trumped up charges of collaboration with the Japanese. The youngest son, Wen-ching, is a gentle deaf-mute photographer who has leftist leanings. The film climaxes with the notorious Incident of February 28, 1947, a Tiananmen Square-style massacre of native Taiwanese committed by Kuomintang troops resulting in between 18,000 to 28,000 causalities. The wounded pour into the neighbor clinic as Wen-ching and his friend Hinoe get arrested. After his release, Hinoe heads for the mountains to join the leftist guerillas while Wen-ching promises to look after his friend's sister Hinomi. Soon after, Wen-ching and Hinomi marry. Just as she is about to bear a child, however, the Kuomintang arrests Wen-ching for his involvement with the guerillas. 

Wong Kar-Wai's movie about two love-struck cops is filmed in impressionistic splashes of motion and color. The first half deals with Cop 223, who has broken up with his girlfriend of five years. He purchases a tin of pineapples with an expiration date of May 1 each day for a month. By the end of that time, he feels that he will either be rejoined with his love or that it too will have expired forever. The second half shows Cop 663 dealing with his breakup with his flight attendant girlfriend. He talks to his apartment furnishings until he meets a new girl at a local lunch counter.
