Strange crimes occur in Thailand as the ranking for the world's best detective sees a shift. New detectives come into the picture to tackle three difficult cases.

Lin Mo is the student of Chinatown's number one detective. Yetian Hao'er is Yetian Hao younger brother. Separate storylines find the two characters caught in the center of mysteries revolving around the victim's widow Ivy and bar singer A Wen. Lin Mo pursues two cases: Four-Faced Buddha and Name of the Rose that not only takes place in Bangkok but also in Kaoshiung.

The third case about the Ghost's Invitation takes the story back to Bangkok and then to Tokyo. The investigator on the job is none other than Yetian Hao'er who teams up with Asia's five-member team that includes Lu Jing Jing and rookie policewoman Sa Sha.

A small town man brings along his mother and his best friend to the big city to find work. Their temporarily lodge with an old buddy of his, who is at the time the center of conflicts between union workers fighting for their rights and unscrupulous bosses trying to crush their protests. The man learns to navigate the political landmines and climbs up the society ladder. Yet, he is privately dissatisfied withthe man he has become. He later finds a purpose in life and a cause greater than money and power.

Rong Jinxiu (Chen Qiao’en) arrives in Shanghai in search of her half-sister, Yin Mingzhu (Lv Jiarong). Jinxiu’s family has fallen on hard times and is hoping for any sort of assistance from Mingzhu. However, Mingzhu, who is now the lover of a well-known businessman, still harbors hatred for the Rong family because they abandoned Mingzhu and her sickly mother many years before.

Mingzhu is willing to meet with Jinxiu once but does not offer any help. On her way out of Mingzhu’s luxurious house, Jinxiu literally bumps into Xiang Yingdong (Kimi Qiao), who has a crush on Mingzhu despite her being the woman of his older brother. With Yingdong is Zuo Zhen (Huang Xiaoming).

Unable to find food or lodging, Jinxiu wastes away on the streets of Shanghai and is discovered by Zuo Zhen and one of his followers, Shi Hao (Yang Le). They bring her to a high-end hotel owned by Yingdong. Thinking that she was rescued by Yingdong, Jinxiu develops a crush on him, which she confesses to Zuo Zhen.

The tea tradition and inheritance of the Masters Zhao is passed down the family from generation to generation, but this changed during the fourth generation when the inheritance changed hands to the descendants of Zhao Fuxiang.
