It’s a drama about conflicts in a big family, involving murder and a police investigation. The title is a twist on the idiom, blood is thicker than water. Because of the conflicts, their family bonds aren’t strong.
When one relative mysteriously dies, the true colors of everyone in the family are about to be revealed. Yi, the eldest brother and Pete, the second brother, try to find out the truth. Patsorn and Cris, their mother, are the biggest suspects. Both of them need to prove their innocence. But the more Yi and Pete investigate, the more dirt they find on the family and everyone becomes a suspect.
Kimhan and Mookarin were engaged to be married but a tragedy destroyed their happiness. Mon, Kimhan's sister, was found dead and her husband Tada, Mook's brother, was accused of killing her. The case went to court and Tada was acquitted with Mook taking the stand as her brother's alibi and Mon's death was ruled an accident.
Kimhan was furious that his sister's killer walked free and that Mook lied to help acquit her brother. If the law could not punish Tada, Kimhan will do it himself, so he vowed to get revenge. In 1765, as the invading Angwa (Burmese) army marched towards the capitol of Ayutthaya Kingdom (Siam), they encountered little resistance from the Ayutthaya army, who retreated to defend from behind the capitol's walls.
Three childhood friends, in the Ayutthaya army, are constantly at odds. Thap wants to fight bravely, as Sang and Khap follow orders and retreat. Unhappy with the army, Thap defects and joins a group of patriotic rebels who eventually all gather at the village of Bang Rajan to defend against the Angwa.
Thap is patient, brave and righteous. Sang is hotheaded, stubborn, and overbearing. He is also ambitious and knows how to talk his way to a promotion. Khap is gentle, follows Sang's lead, but is also smart and wise to Sang's bravado. Sang is competitive and wants to win over Thap, but their personalities are not the only thing driving the rift. Sang loves Juang, Thap's sister, while Khap is madly in love with Feung, Thap's fiancee.
Thap does not want his, or Feung's family, to retreat to the capitol, although he has to be in hiding as a deserter. Sang takes this opportunity to be the protector of Juang and Feung. He convinces Khap that they must kidnap the girls and take them to the capitol for safety, while Thap is in pursuit to retrieve them. Also for the girls' protection, Sang and Khap declare that Juang and Feung are their wives. Along the way, they meet the mysterious Jai, who has fallen for the brave and patriotic Sapai.
The village of Bang Rajan, according to Thai tradition, is where a group of brave villagers, gathered from various regions, put up a brave fight and fought eight battles against the well organised invaders and became legendary heroes. The battle for Bang Rajan is a symbol of determination and heroism against overwhelming odds.
“Fah Jarot Sai” is a love story set in the desert between a mixed Thai girl named Michelle and Sharif, a royal officer in the made-up kingdom of Hinfara.
Michelle is a mixed orphaned girl who grew up in a convent. When she graduated from school, she followed her best friend Kasfiya to a distant desert kingdom called Hinfara to teach. As soon as they get there, Kasfiya is assigned to the palace to be a lady of the court (i.e. concubine) for King Admed, the ruler of Hinfara. It was foretold by the Royal fortune teller that the woman who will give birth to King Admed’s heir has arrived to Hinfara. Because she already had a lover and the misconception that Michelle was trying to steal her French lover Robert, Kasifya devises a plan to make Michelle her substitute. Following traditional custom of the land, Sharif, the King’s beloved friend/ royal officer will delivery that woman to King Admed.
On the night of the delivery of Michelle to King Admed, Oman, a younger relative of King Admed, created a rebellious uprising and had King Admed executed in front of Sharif.
Sharif was very devastated by the lost, he fought with the rebel army and fled with Michelle into the wide and open desert. Together Sharif and Michelle had to face the dry harsh elements of the desert landscape as they were being hunted down by Oman’s rebel army.
Being together alone and experiencing the difficulties of the desert together, the two began to sympathized with each other. Sympathy and understanding turned into Love. However, their love faced an obstacle because Sharif’s duty to save the throne of Hinfara and to make the kingdom peaceful again.
