The court painter, Lu Jiu Qing, accidentally opened the world in the painting with a magic brush, and met Yan Ge, the elf of plants and trees. The faces of the women in the city were destroyed one after another. In order to find out the truth, the two entered the tomb of life and death. The demon king peeled off the skins of all the plants and elves, and Yan Ge, who had lost her beauty, turned into a deadly dead branch. A test of skin and sincerity was placed in front of Lu Jiu Qing.

Xue Wenxi comes from a poor family, and disguises as a guy to make ends meet by helping to transcript and copywrite books. She meets Feng Chengjun, the son of Prime Minister Yun, who acknowledges her talents. Feng Chenjun secretly planned a setup so that Xue Wenxi was appointed by the Emperor, and enrolled in the Yun Shang Academy which only accepts male students. There, she befriends the rebellious and unrestrained Yu Yuexuan and the cold and aloof Lei Zexin. The four become known as the "Yun Shang Quartet" and assists the Emperor in managing the country.

The story takes place during the chaotic times of Western Wei, where innocent citizens are often kidnapped and turned into slaves. He doubts Chu Qiao and takes advantages of her loyalty and love many times, disregarding their relationship as well as the sacrifices he will have to make for power. Disappointed with the man she once loved, Chu Qiao eventually breaks off her relationship with Yan Xun and chooses to fight with Yu Wen Yue, destroying Yan Xun’s plans of vengeance. She eventually convinces Yuwen to free the country from slavery, becoming a successful military strategist/female general in the people’s hearts.

A Castle in Sky – how would one get there? Fly! In ancient times, because of their ability to fly (or make flying objects), the Yu Clan is regarded as gods by all.
