The King of Yesterday and Tomorrow tells the tale of how Emperor Yung Cheng and Lui Sei Leong are accidentally transported 200 years into the future into modern day Hong Kong. Now, you can just imagine the reactions of these two Ching period characters when they wake up to find themselves in a totally unfamiliar environment. But that’s when we also get to see the differences between Yung Cheng and Lui Sei Leong. Being emperor, Yung Cheng chooses to observe his surroundings and is calm and composed albeit a little apprehensive. Lui Sei Leong, on the other hand, having been brought up with only one thing in mind, is bent on assassinating the emperor and reviving the Ming. She doesn’t care where or what time period she’s in! This, of course, results in a series of hilarious incidents involving the both of them. Yung Cheng assumes the identity of a Lee Tai Ha and is taken in by his uncle and family, while Lui Sei Leong joins a martial arts performing troupe.

Based off Gu Man's very popular internet novel, the story tells of a kind hearted young girl named Xue Shan Shan (Zhao Li Ying) who works at a big conglomerate. However one of her weaknesses is eating, she loves to eat, and so upon discovering this her boss, Feng Teng (Zhang Han) decides to intentionally fatten her up; she just so happens to share the same blood type as his sister, and thus has the motive of making her the blood donor. Hence comedy ensues as she melts his heart with her exceptional appetite and her cute charm.

Hayashi Miyoshi is one quirky high school student who enjoys doing fun things that don’t always quite make sense. Despite being hard to pin down, his mysterious charm never fails to draw others to him.

In order to finance his activities, he sometimes helps out at his parents’ restaurant, allowing him to continue living by his motto, "It’s comfortable to have enough free time to waste."

Hirano will portray Gonda Mari, a former aspiring idol and idol fanatic who has memorized every detail of Japan's idol history since the 1980s. As a teacher in the teen comedy, Hirano's character advises the "I Want to Become an Idol Club" at an all-girls finishing school. The five singers of 9nine will play the members of the "I Want to Become an Idol Club." In the story, the girls' senior student scouted them to debut as idols at the school's culture festival. The singers then form the club and devise outlandish lessons to train themselves as performers.

Qi Yue played by Rainie Yang is ready to give her love letter to the captain of the basketball team- Shang Yuan Yi(Kingone Wang). However, it ends up in the hands of the devil of the school- Ah Meng played by Mike He. He threatens Qi Yue and demands that he do whatever he asks of her. She agrees because she does not want the love letter to be seen by everyone in the school. She ends up being frustrated with the way Ah Meng bullies her and ends up confessing her love to Yuan Yi. To her surprise, he likes her back. Qi Yue thought that it would be the end of the devil however she finds out that her mom is going to re-marry the principal of her school who is also the father of Ah Meng. She ends up spending a lot of time with Ah Meng and eventually they start liking each other. While this goes on their parents do not know that they are dating but Qi Yue’s mom has some suspicions. What will happen to Ah Meng’s relationship with Qi Yue since their parents are dating one another? Will one couple end up breaking up with the other or will they all date and not care about what other people think about their relationship?
