The Grand Canal features popular stars now and then to celebrate TVB's 20th Anniversary in 1987. The story originates from well-known historical figures in China during the Sui Dynasty. The TV drama covers different historical events such as the peasant uprising leading to the downfall of the Sui Dynasty, the rise of the Tang Dynasty and the politics involved therein. Tony Leung and Felix Wong, two of the legendary "Five Tigers", led the cast, and this is one of the very few dramas in which Felix Wong plays the villain, Li Mi. The righteous and intelligent hero Zhang San-lang, played by Tony Leung, is exactly the opposite of the cunning and ambitious Li Mi. The two struggle with each other to offer TV fans an exciting 58-episode series! A lot of viewers also find the subplots alluring. Zhang San-lang (Tony Leung) falls in love with a princess (Idy Chan), while another girl (Cheng Yim Fung) is having a crush on him. The love relations among members of the side-cast also create great attraction. The strong casts, their wonderful chemistry, the beautiful costumes and sets, together with the impressive scenic views in Xi'an (the former capital of China) all won big applause from the audience. Tsuyama Shio is a boring thirty-something working as an OL in a boring company. As a risk-averse person, she doesn't dare to do anything that may bring on hurt. Chan Siu Sang is single and all alone, his old love Chu So Ngo married the doctor that treated her son and left the police force. Then he meets Wai Ying Zi, a rookie police officer that is under Chan Sam Yuen Police Traffic Department unit. The two get off on the wrong foot due to misunderstandings. Wai Ying Zi who is eager to show off her skills seems to get into a lot of trouble. She is deemed reckless and rash. Later on, Ying Zi joins Siu Sang's CID unit which leads to the two bickering non-stop. After Siu Sang saves Ying Zi life on one of their investigations she learns to respect him and the two become friends. Chan Sam Yuen is promoted to the head of the Police Traffic Department. She and Ching Fung are also now parents to a pair of girl/boy twins, but their marriage is not as happy as it seems as the two continue to have quarrels in their marriage. With marital problems at home, Sam Yuen becomes a cold, unreasonable and mean boss at work. When a case similar to the psychotic serial rapist in the last series arises Sam Yuen starts feeling threaten and insecure even though the culprit Bao Gwok Ping is still locked up in jail. It seems Bao Gwok Ping has been communicating with someone on the outside who agreed to take on his split personality persona and continuing his crime spree. Due to Sam Yuen's carelessness her son is kidnapped and killed by the new culprit. This causes Sam Yuen and Ching Fung marriage to be in further jeopardy when he blames her for the death of their son.

The story begins in 1969 when Shane Phananchoeng, a hot-tempered young man, goes to the border patrol. One day he returns to his homeland, Ban Pa Puen Taek (Pha Puen Taek village), but had to face bad news when he realized that Nueathong, his lover, has to marry his greatest enemy, Chart Talumphuk. He planned to take Nueathong out, but it turns out that Shane kidnapped Wanlapa in her place. The chaos followed.

Adventures of Shintaro the Samurai travelling 18th century Japan with his trusted companion Tombei, battling the enemies of the Shogun and the dreaded Iga, Koga, and Fuma Ninjas. The series portrayed the adventures of a roving samurai detective/spy, Akikusa Shintarō (Koichi Ose), whose real identity is Matsudaira Nobuchiyo - the older half-brother of Tokugawa Ienari, the 11th Tokugawa shogun, who is still a minor. Being the son of a concubine, Nobuchiyo has no claim to power, so he assumes the guise of a wandering swordsman named Shintarō to seek out and eliminate plots by rival feudal lords and thus protect his younger brother.

In a house in the outskirts of Tokyo, there lives a family of eight. Such a large family is rare these days, however not one of them is related by blood. They all lost a loved one in the same holiday accident. Moved by Shogo's suggestion that they all move in together, they have gathered in this house. Each has their own issues and it makes for the start of a tumultuous home life. Tsuyoshi Domoto stars as the passionate yet sentimental lead, Shogo. Diametrically opposed in character and thinking is Tomohiko (Yusuke Santamaria). The story centres on these two as the butt heads at every turn, and the eight grow closer together as a family. This is a human drama full of heart and mixed with laughs and tears depicting a group of deeply wounded people beginning to believe in tomorrow and live life more positively.

Story focused on Shi Young's relationship with her long term boyfriend, Byoung Woon. It portrays the struggles of nowadays long term relationships, such as, lack of interest, trust and boundaries. Will they be able to overcome their issues or will they part ways?
