A drama about a star singer and an imitation singer whose name is ridiculous; their love, hatred and compassion intertwine.

Yoo Ji Na (Uhm Jung Hwa) has been a popular singer for the past 20 years, but she holds pain inside because of something she abandoned when she was younger. Meanwhile, Jung Hae Dang (Koo Hye Sun) began working as a Yoo Ji Na impersonator to support her family after her father lost his job. She sings on stage at a club and tries hard to mimic Yoo Ji Na’s songs.

Playful Kiss is about a popular and genius male student named Baek Sueng-jo who has a stand-offish personality and Oh Hani who is a female student who makes up for being not-so-genius by always being smiling and happy. An earthquake destroys the girl's home and she and her dad end up living with the boy's family. The girl has kept this boy in her heart but she has never received any assurances of her love being reciprocated. Fun and groans ensue as they interact and rub off on each other. How will this drama end?

A romance full of twist and turns and undoubtedly heartaches if this entire journey is supposed to last ten years until it gets to a presumably happy ending. In 1865, Hanpeita Takechi (Ryo Nishikido) belongs to political activist group Shishi. He is then imprisoned and ordered to kill himself for disrespecting the Lord. When Hanpeita Takechi is about to carry out the suicide, he suddenly finds himself asleep in the middle of a country road. He is now in present day Japan, but he has no idea how he got here.

Hanpeita Takechi wants to go back, but he is stuck in the remote rural area. Meanwhile, villagers are embarrassed by Hanpeita’s appearance. Haruka Saeki (Manami Higa) works at a public office there and she hears about Hanpeita Takechi. Haruka Saeki finds him at the supermarket.

The story depicts a man's magical experience travelling back in time to redo his life and rebuild broken relations with his family. Nagata Kazuo visits his ageing father, Tadao, at the hospital but he was unable to fix their turbulent relationship. Upon returning home, he finds a divorce paper from his wife, Miyoko and also his son, Hiroki, behaving violently. As Kazuo always wanted to be a good father unlike his father, he thinks of committing suicide. One day, however, a wagon stops right next to Kazuo. The driver is Hashimoto and his son Kenta who allegedly died in an accident. Even though he didn't understand the situation, Kazuo gets on board and then mysteriously, he was joined by his father who looks like the same age as Kazuo. The drive to change Kazuo's regretful life begins!

A story that spans ten years follows a group of young men and women from their schooldays until the time they enter society as adults.
