Wilson Lam plays Yeung, an idealistic intern who reports to work at a paper run by the press veteran Wong (Eric Tsang). Yeung is teamed up with a hot-headed reporter, Turbo (Andy Lau), and a straight-laced writer, Chui (Michael Miu). Chui is obsessed with exposing the dirty secrets of a local tycoon, Pon (Wong Kam-Kong). Turbo is always looking for the next big story, so he readily jumps in, and since Yeung has a crush on Pon's girlfriend, pop star Tung (Cally Kwong), he joins up in the chase for the truth as well. 

A pair of exes run into each other again years after a breakup that left them with plenty of unresolved questions...

“Osamu Yamada and Hello Nights”, a band headed by a former employee of major record label Osamu Yamada, followed by drinking buddies Toshiki, Akira, and Goro as the chorus, and a singer who is not popular at all Shingo as the lead vocal. Kazuo, who took over the debt on the band, later joins as the member. After ten years, the band does not still have a hit and has been barely surviving, making tours in provincial areas with a veteran singer, Kitty Iwaki. One day the band is invited for a performance at a small town in a province where Osamu was born. Eiji, a younger brother of Osamu, does not feel comfortable on his return. Ai, a friend of Eiji’s son, helps her mother to run a bar, dreaming of being a singer someday. She runs after a member telling that she wants to join the band…

Meanwhile, the emperor's evil uncle scours the land looking for the emperor and planning to take his throne.

"Goemon" is based on the life of Ishikawa Goemon a legendary 16th century ninja warrior and bandit who stole valuables and gave them to the poor. There is little historical information on Goemon's life, and thus he has become a folk hero, whose background and origins have been widely speculated upon. The movie version is set to create a new interpretation of the character.

A young woman's husband apparently commits suicide without warning or reason, leaving behind his wife and infant. Yumiko remarries and moves from Osaka to a small fishing village, yet continues to search for meaning in a lonely world.
