Hana is a high school student. Her parents suddenly died in an accident. Since then, Hana doesn't have any hope to live. One day, a man introduces himself to Hana as an agent from a special government agency. He asks Hana to talk about a dream she. She is confused by what he talked about. On that night, Hana has a strange dream.

Kyoji Narita is a high ranking yakuza member. On a rainy day, he wanders on the street. He hears a singing sound and he walks towards the sound. There, he meets junior high school student Satomi Oka and he invites him to go to a karaoke place to teach him to sing. Kyoji Narita badly wants to improve his singing so he won't place last in his gang's karaoke competition. Meanwhile, Satomi Oka is a 3rd grade junior high school students and leads the school choral club. Satomi Oka has a sincere personality, but he often makes biting remarks. He has one problem, which is that he has difficulties with high-pitched notes due to his voice going through puberty. Satomi Oka is embarrassed by the unexpected request from Kyoji Narita.

A fractured family of four brothers and one sister confront haunting memories of their mother’s passing fifteen years ago. Fifteen years had passed, as Nicole (Summer Chan) returns home to Hong Kong to be reunited with her three brothers, clinging to the shattered memory from the night of her mother’s passing. It's June of their third year of high school, and Takumi has an important anniversary to attend back in his hometown. As Yuji and Sakura prepare exquisite meals and practice playful exercises on the sand, we, like Taeko, begin to yield to their pace and absorb their benevolence. As all engage in “twilighting,” a pastime involving staring into space, we, too, find that our breathing deepens, our gaze relaxes. Watching Megane becomes a meditation. A soulful journey rife with subtle “aha” moments, Megane is minimalist and quiet but never didactic or serious. Like a good Buddhist teacher, its unexpected humor delights and thaws us.

A story of an entrepreneurial miner racked by guilt over the death of his lover's husband. Set in the fictional community of Tianquan, somewhere in bleak northern China, coal miner Li Guangsheng lives and works with the older Zhongmin, a father figure. Guangsheng, who is secretly having a hotsyhotsy affair with Zhongmin's wife, is mortified when Zhongmin dies in a mine explosion and blames himself for not saving his friend.
