While patrolling the Honjo area, Heizo Hasegawa encounters his old dojo companion and close friend, Samanosuke Kishii, as well as Hikoju of Sagami, a ruffian from Honjo. Samanosuke informs Heizo that the daughter they once admired, Ofusa, has been divorced and is now married into the household of the villainous lord, Jubei Matsuoka. When Hikoju investigates the circumstances surrounding this lord, it becomes clear that there are connections to the mentor of Heizo and Samanosuke from their youth, as well as revelations of wrongdoing.

Plot summary : A salesman from Delta Works, a London-based computerized database, offers a one month free trial that seems uninteresting until he mentions that an operator, always selected from a group of young women in their 20's nick-named "Delta Ladies", will also be supplied in the trial period. Poo arrives at the one-man Aida Detective Agency with the Delta Mazelan 'F' Series hardware. A dragon fish has been stolen by Tetsu Tobiyama and biologist Thomas Earwing seeks its return (the Super-Red variety is worth 10 million yen). The system fails to provide info about Tetsu, but Poo worms her way into a top secret file at Delta headquarters, finding that he supplies trained assassins for use worldwide. Searching tropical fish outlets where Tobiyama shops for supplies, Poo is led to Natsuro, living alone with fish tanks, one of which contains a dragon fish. A-ho is a boy from an ordinary family. His father is a driver education instructor, his mother is a hairstylist, and his older brother is a high school student set to enter college. A-ho’s brother A-hao is a model student, and his father has high expectations of him. On the other hand, A-ho is a troublemaker and the black sheep of the family. One day, a terrible misfortune befalls A-ho’s family, and A-ho, who learns about his girlfriend’s pregnancy, gets into serious trouble because of his friends and ends up in a juvenile detention center. His father’s anger and contempt for A-ho grow extreme, and a series of crises completely shatter the family. Released from the detention center, A-ho tries his best as the head of his family, but society does not accept him and his life continues in a downward spiral. A Sun presents a realistic portrayal of the process in which an ordinary family pushed to the brink of their limits comes to embrace each other.

When we last saw Gye Doo-Shik in the 2001 Korean gangster comedy My Boss My Hero, he was a second-in-command gangster who was forced by his boss to get a high school diploma in order to move up the mob ladder. There, he was subjected to bullies, rival gangs, and various forms of corporal punishment. The film became a mega-hit and was etched forever into Korean pop culture history as a leading example of South Korea's popular gangster comedy genre. Five years later, Doo-Shik and company return for more of the same in the sequel My Boss, My Student. This time, there's more of everything -- a larger cast, more subplots, more violence, more gangsters, etc. Even the screen is wider. The result is a true blockbuster that brought twice the box office gross of its predecessor (as of now, it is the second highest-grossing Korean film of 2006).

In the first of a two-part film project, three short stories from acclaimed Hong Kong horror writer Lilian Lee are adapted for the big screen in this star-studded horror anthology. Results vary from the good to the tedious, however, with the various socio-political messages lost in tired genre trappings. Lilian Lee is one of Hong Kong's most successful authors, who has published hundreds of novels, many of which have been adapted for the big screen. Stanley Kwan's Rouge, Chen Kaige's Farewell My Concubine and Tsui Hark's Green Snake were all originally penned by Lee, and so the prospect of six diverse filmmakers adapting half a dozen of her short stories into an ambitious anthology project was understandably an enticing concept. Tales From The Dark 1, released in Hong Kong this weekend, presents the first three of these adaptations (with Part 2 scheduled to arrive early next month), and boasts contributions from Fruit Chan, Lee Chi Ngai and the directorial debut of actor Simon Yam. The seasoned star of more than 150 films also takes the lead in Stolen Goods, which opens the anthology. Yam plays Kwan, a curmudgeonly loner scraping together a meagre living in a "coffin apartment" no bigger than a jail cell. When he loses his job on a construction site, the obstinate Kwan refuses to go on welfare, despite owing back rent and having no relatives to turn to for help. In desperation Kwan heads to a cemetery and steals a selection of urns, intending to blackmail their relatives into paying a ransom for their return. However, Kwan soon discovers that tampering with human remains will wreak repercussions from the spirit world.

Wu Hongyan is a young woman working as a prison guard during executions of female convicts. She feels lonely after her husband died, and she takes a night train to another city to visit a dating service. After a series of unsuccessful dates, she meets Li Jun.
