Asian Drama

It tells the story of two poor guys who leave their hometown in the northeast with dreams of getting rich and goes south to pan for gold. However, their simplistic nature coupled with a series of near misses ignites a touching and comedic story that depicts their struggles. Along the way, they come face to face with female entrepreneur Ma Lu and happily raise a kid. Set against the backdrop of China’s reform and opening up of trade and investment in the early 1990s, Xiao Bao (Song Xiaobao) follows his best bud Second Brother (Sha Yi) to the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Both hailing from tthe same rural village, they dream to make something out of themselves one day. However, the unexpected arrival of a baby puts a wrench in their plans. Suddenly, the two clueless guys are rookie dads who are trying to raise a baby. They also encounter Ma Lu (Ma Li) whose unmarried despite her age. She may seem cold but she's a warm-hearted woman. In order to pursue the apple of his eye, the poor boy is determined to get rich.
