Aruo, the dragon girl from the East China Sea, is determined to find her beloved, and comes to the mortal Wang Sheng at all costs. However, the fox demon Xiaoman wants to get the most precious spiritual leaf from the dragon girl, and designs to break Wang Sheng's heart. When the world is hit with a naturally occuring virus that spreads among all living things, humans begin to turn into insatiable zombies. In a blink, the world as we know it collapses. Survivors depend on one profession, their only hope; someone in this profession must brave the dangers to send and recieve food and packages of necessities. These people are called Riders.

Saeba Ryo is a "sweeper" in the city of Tokyo. He works as a trouble shooter, cleaning the streets of vermin, and helping out desperate people. Sometimes he's a bodyguard, sometimes he's an assassin, whatever Ryo does he does it well. In fact, his only flaw is his hormones - he loves the ladies and sometimes turns into an idiot when he's near them. Thankfully he's got people like his partner Kaori Makimura to keep him in check.

On the eve of the dreaded university entrance examinations, the lives of 24 of the smartest and brightest students at one high school are on the line. Locked inside the school with no way to escape, a television monitor broadcasts a terrified Hae Yeong, the top student at the high school, locked inside an aquarium that slowly begins to fill with water. A voice from the monitor announces if the students cannot finish the exam administered within the allotted time given, Hae Yeong will die and so will everyone held captive inside the school. Thus begins the examination that will determine whether they live or die.

Hayami Teruya is a dedicated salaryman who does a workman like job as the chief editor for a magazine. He has personal charm, get along with both the publisher and subordinates and runs the ship well. Chatting with his direct boss he picks up a certain vibe. Did he misunderstand that the magazine is doomed and will be terminated? If so, he is not going down without a fight. He will fight to make it through and keep his, and the others', jobs.

This film takes place in Hong Kong, where Mainland Chinese MPS officer Cheng Shih-nan (Cheng) extradites drug-dealer Wong Ti (Chow) to the Royal Hong Kong Police. The film begins with a famous doctor, Yan Guo, becoming extremely sick during the course of his studies. To save his life, his girlfriend Baobao makes an agreement with a mysterious creature; in exchange for the health of Yan Guo, she agrees to be turned into a butterfly for three years.

Yan Guo finally recovers from his illness and wakes up. He is confused and hurt by Baobao's disappearance, and in her absence, other women begin trying to attract his attention. Meanwhile, Baobao begins living her life as a butterfly but finds that the other insects will not associate with her, finding her too human.

Soon, a dangerous and infectious disease begins spreading on the island. Both Yan Guo and Baobao try their best during this time to help those around them. When the three years have passed, will they have a happy ending?
