Facing an unacceptable reality, a teacher is trying to reclaim relationships with his family, students and former friends. Reassessing his past, he contemplates how to go on with his life.

When the world is hit with a naturally occuring virus that spreads among all living things, humans begin to turn into insatiable zombies. In a blink, the world as we know it collapses. Furthermore, the few remaining survivors are unable to use the available food resources. They therefore develop a new crop to support themselves. Survivors depend on one profession, their only hope; someone in this profession must brave the dangers to send and recieve food and packages of necessities. These people are called Riders.

Saeba Ryo is a "sweeper" in the city of Tokyo. He works as a trouble shooter, cleaning the streets of vermin, and helping out desperate people. Sometimes he's a bodyguard, sometimes he's an assassin, whatever Ryo does he does it well. In fact, his only flaw is his hormones - he loves the ladies and sometimes turns into an idiot when he's near them. Thankfully he's got people like his partner Kaori Makimura to keep him in check.

After suffering from serial paranormal events, a wealthy family living in LA summons a young rising shaman duo Hwa Rim and Bong Gil to save the newborn of the family. Once they arrive, Hwa Rim senses a dark shadow of their ancestor has latched on the family in a so-called 'Grave Calling'.

In order to exhume the grave and relieve the ancestor, Hwa Rim seeks help from top-notch geomancer Sang Deok and mortician Yeong Geun.  Inferior gangster Flying Dragon (Chin Ka Lok) has a bad habit of gambling, he thus offends the three great gamble deceivers. Flying Dragon hence brings Roy to Mahjong casino to earn money for him. Though Roy has no desire to seize the fame, his good luck elicits the worry of aggressive Mie Luo (Pang Jin Chi) who then plans to harm Roy.Hua San Yuan realizes that Roy is gifted with luck, so he pleads him to be his disciple. Mie Luo knows it and sends people to beat Roy up, but later they mistakenly hurt Flying Dragon. This motivates Roy to learn the professional Mahjong techniques from Hua San Yuan, he gradually develops an intricate relationship with Hua San Yuan's disciple Pei Er (Rain Li).In fact, Pei Er and Mie Luo are lovers. Pei Er determines to find out the source of luck of Roy and help transfer the luck to Mie Luo. When Roy is in deep desperation, Ge He Qing suddenly recovers and co-operates with Hua San Yuan to train up Roy's skill of playing Mahjong techniques. They decide to foster the new generation of "The King of Mahjong"...

Akame Kotoji (Takenaka Naoto), a shabby, middle aged low-ranking samurai of small stature, is a stableman at the suburban villa of Narushima Michihisa, the feudal lord of the desperately poor Kuju domain. Each feudal lord would have to travel to and from Edo with a procession that included samurai from his domain.) Released from service for this blunder, Akame becomes a wandering samurai. However, he has a big hidden scheme. In the mountains of Hakone, he suddenly appears before the procession of the Wako domain’s feudal lord, whom fencing instructor Furuta Jusaburo (Fujiki Naohito) serves. Plunging right into the middle of the retinue, Akame snatches away the lance, which is the symbol and prestige of a feudal family, without killing anyone. He goes on to steal lances from other processions in acts of retaliation. The Fuki domain is another victim of his attack. Its vassal Murase Jidayu (Takahashi Hideki) hears that it is because of Akame’s grudge against the Narushima family and thinks this is the reason. For Furuta, suffering defeat is out of question. To protect his domain and family, he takes it on himself to meet Murase and proposes an alliance between the Wako, Fuki and Ushizu domains. With the fate of the feudal families in their hands, Furuta and Murase pursue Akame. Each with something to protect, the men fight desperately over the lances. But what is Akame’s motive?
