Aruo, the dragon girl from the East China Sea, is determined to find her beloved, and comes to the mortal Wang Sheng at all costs. However, the fox demon Xiaoman wants to get the most precious spiritual leaf from the dragon girl, and designs to break Wang Sheng's heart. Soon, Toshihide realizes that Ako is not his ideal woman. A case leads to Ako to begin living with Toshihide and his family. Living with the warm-hearted family, Ako slowly regains herself and becomes a person with a truthful and honest mind.

9 years after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, two murder cases take place in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The two victims are assumed to have been murdered by the same person. Both of the victims were tied all over their body and starved to death. Yasuhisa Tone emerges as a suspect in the murders. Yasuhisa Tone was just recently released from prison. In his past, he committed arson and injured someone to protect his acquaintance. Detective Seiichiro Tomashino discovers a common link between the two victims and chases after Yasuhisa Tone.

A lonely, chain-smoking office lady in Tokyo falls for her teacher when she decides to take English lessons. When her teacher disappears, she sets out on a journey to find him.

It begins with Mitsue (Rie Miyazawa), a young librarian, rushing home in a thunderstorm, frightened out of her wits. Her terror, we soon see, is a product of the war, particularly the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, which she barely survived. She lives with her father, Takezo (Yoshio Harada), in their bombed-out house, now partly repaired. Dad is her confessor, adviser and friend, the only one she can tell about her fears, dreams and past. Most of her friends and family died in the bombing - including Dad. That Dad is with her only in spirit doesn't faze her. He looks, acts and talks like one of the living. But, as befits a ghost no longer bound by selfish earthly concerns, he is interested only in her problems. Particularly her budding relationship with the shy, bespectacled Kinoshita (Tadanobu Asano), who is researching the bombing and wants Mitsue's help - and possibly slightly more than that.

Tokio (Shinya Tsukamoto) is a young salaryman who is uncomfortably confronted with his own ineptness when he finds his wife Kumiko drowned in the bathtub one night. He picks up the phone to call an ambulance, but puts it down again before dialling the number. Instead he distractedly makes himself coffee before deciding to drain the bath and bring Kumiko to the living room couch. With her dead body beside him, the panic finally breaks through the daze, and he starts drinking to numb it. Awakening from an alcohol-induced sleep the following morning, he finds himself in his own bed. Even greater is the surprise when Kumiko walks into the room to ask how he's doing.

Chaw is the name for a man-eating wild boar with a body length of 2m and approximate weight of 410kg. Sameri is a quiet village on the foot of Mt. Jiri in South Korea where no incidents have occurred in 10 years.

One day a mangled human wrist is found and the village of Sameri is placed in fear and severe anxiety. Shortly later another body part is found and then footprints are discovered with bloodstains. Former hunter Cheon Il Man lost his granddaughter and he now suspects her disappearance is tied to the man eating boar. Cheon Il Man then gathers some residents to find the boar including Kim Sun Kyeong, professional animal hunter Baek, and Detective Shin. Animal ecosystem researcher Su Ryeon is also enlisted in their hunt.
