Himura Kenshin is a legendary swordsman who has stopped killing people with his sword. Instead, he uses a dull-edged sword. He tries to live a peaceful life with Kaoru who runs a swordsmanship school in their village. Kenshin's past catches up to him causing the destruction of Akabeko Restaurant, which was Kenshin's favorite place to eat. There, he finds a note with the word 'Jinchuu' on it.

Haraguchi Motoko works as a temp at a bank. To pay off debt that she inherited from her parents, she also works as a hostess at a club in Ginza. Motoko Haraguchi is finally able to repay the debt.

At this time, there's chatter that the temp employees will be laid off at the bank. Motoko Haraguchi decides to carry out a scheme she has prepared secretly. She transfers money from accounts opened illegally to her bank account. Altogether, Motoko Haraguchi embezzles 180 million yen. Using her “Kurokawa no Techo” (Black Leather Notebook) which has a list of the illegally opened accounts, she fights against bank branch managers and opens a club in Ginza.

Mia Kurihara (Emi Takei) works in the public relations department of a company. She falls in love with Kairi Miyoshi (Hideaki Takizawa). He is the vice president of the company, but he is also married.

The dashingly handsome Kishi Keiichitaro is Sobokai First General Hospital’s only pathologist. Described as intensely eccentric and very sharp-tongued, he is an extremely outstanding doctor. He would clash with the other party no matter who he or she is, for the sake of medical justice and the lives of patients. He is considered a nuisance by the doctors around him, but they never go against his judgments. Because he does not mince his words, he makes nothing but enemies. Rookie neurologist Miyazaki Chihiro, who works at the same hospital as Kishi, is lectured by a senior doctor Kosaka Hidetoshi every day. She has reservations about his emphasis on work efficiency but cannot refute.

Due to Professor Kita’s suggestion, student Moe Nishinosono (Emi Takei) and Associate Professor Sohei Saikawa (Gou Ayano) head to Professor Kita’s research institute. There, various experiments have been conducted in a low temperature research room. During the night a murder takes place. Two graduate students are found dead in the low temperature research room. How did the killer enter the closed research room and how did the killer leave the room?

Emiri Yoshii (Emi Takei) begins work at a general trading company. Due to her family's failure in business, she had to give up her dream of earning a MBA in America. Now, she hopes to become an executive of a company. Emiri is sent to the general affairs department at the trading company. She freaks out when she learns that lower level employees have to wear uniforms and she has to deal with everything from changing light bulbs to ordering business cards. Nonetheless, she works hard to pay off her family's debt.

Emiri then finds herself in the crosshair of coworkers. Senior female employees are perturbed that she doesn't drink coffee with them and skips their gatherings.

Meanwhile, the male employees like working with her, but only when they need an attractive women for matters like entertaining clients. The male employees do not give her serious work.

Emiri, who appears popular among the male employees, soon becomes an outcast among the senior female employees. She becomes fed up with her situation and takes action.

The Kaishinmaru is a hospital ship which goes around to islands without hospitals in the Seto Inland Sea to provide medical services. The doctors and staff live communally on this ship which has facilities like a hospital as it circles theislands. One day, a lone doctor is supposed to come to the Kashinmaru. His name is Sezaki Kota. He is a young freelance general physician who hails from Hokkaido. The nurses Togami Mako and Misaki Noboru; physician Uchimura Aoi; clerical officer Hiuchi Akira who is also Aoi’s husband; ship’s captain and chef Kaito Takeshi; and the rest of the staff prepare Kota’s welcome party. However, Kota arrives much later than the appointed time. He comes across Mako who has just taken a bath and is mistaken for a prowler. She sends him a flying kick. The next day, Kota re-introduces himself to the staff and immediately gets to work. This time, the Kaishinmaru visits Chitosejima. In the morning, Kota examines the island’s residents that have gathered. However, Mako is half-outraged by Kota’s irresponsible attitude such as a recommendation to a patient who cannot get relief from a stomachache to drink carbonated drinks. In the afternoon, Kota goes out with Mako for house calls. It appears that there will be a festival on the island tomorrow and they see a man practising on drums. On the way back from the house calls, Kota notices a woman, Murakami Mizuki, crying in front of a tombstone and he is captivated by her beauty. Mizuki is the daughter of Michinori who runs a shipbuilding business on this island. She and her father are at odds. Learning that Mizuki wants to protect the house filled with memories of her late mother and opposes her father’s intention to discontinue the business and sell the house, Kota decides that he will marry her and be Michinori’s successor. And so, he announces out of the blue to the Kaishinmaru staff that he is getting off the ship tomorrow … … Kota has a terrible weakness when it comes to beautiful women. He would fall in love with a woman he meets on each island he visits, declare that he is going to live with her and make every effort to solve the problem she has. However, various people would get drawn into this fuss. In the end, he would be dumped by the woman. Then, he would tearfully go on to the next island and fall in love with another woman and the same thing would happen over and over again … …

Inspector Umizuki Chinami (Takei Emi) is a career elite and yet treated as a burden. But this weighs on Chinami’s mind. Before long, she finds out the source of the gun that was used to shoot Sugimoto. This brings her to Kanto Natsume-kai. For some reason, Yuta’s mother is there. She learns that Yuta’s father, Akiba (Hakamada Yoshihiko), a skilled workman, was abducted by Kanto Natsume-kai and made to be a dealer at an illegal casino. Sugimoto had run up debt of 20 million yen at this casino. They finally establish a link to the case and think that the case can be solved. But it is not that simple. The illegal casino has been taking place at the embassy which Japanese police cannot enter because of diplomatic immunity. Chinami has until April to solve the case. The members of the Eighteenth Section, who have quickly learnt about Chinami’s transfer, work hard in an attempt to send her off without bringing dishonour to her name, but they have just one month … …
