A mystery drama about a case of murder involving a high school girl who died in a fall.

“Romance Blue” is a web drama that focuses its storyline around people who are afraid of love. The title is derived from the saying ‘marriage blues,’ which describes a feeling of depression that a person may feel before getting married. In the context of this web drama, ‘romance blues’ describes the depressed feelings a person may feel before starting a new love.

The Japanese 38th South Pole research expedition team are at the Dome base. Located 1,000 km away from the main Showa base at an altitude of 3,800 m, it is called the most inhospitable place on earth with an average temperature of -54 deg Celsius. No living thing or even a virus can survive in such an environment. Three of the seven-member expedition team are researchers and the remaining four are support personnel. However, they are common men who have to live together in the confined space of the Dome base for one year. The only joy they can speak of is the time when everyone eats delicious food. There is little else except starkness, oppressiveness, stress, anxiety, apprehension of living in such extreme conditions with nowhere to escape to and no one to rely on besides fellow team members.

The play tells the story of the modern mother Kang Ya Yu and her husband who have a two-year-old daughter. They constantly overcome the contradictions and difficulties in parenting life, and finally complete the transformation of the role in learning and growing up, and become competent parents.

Mio Meguro is a timid person. She is afraid of being hated by others and this causes her to refrain from saying what she really wants to say. She doesn't have any specific things she wants to do. She got a job and eventually dated a man from her workplace work. Mio Meguro wanted to marry the man, but he turns out to be a bad guy. Because of him, she becomes penniless and unemployed. Her life descends into a bottomless pit. Mio Meguro then happens to get a sharehouse, where the mysterious creatures known as yokai live. The yokai try to solve her problems in radical ways.
