Tosu Tetsuo never expected his daughter, Reika, to be a victim of domestic violence. Suspecting that her yakuza boyfriend, Matori Nobuto, is the perpetrator, Tetsuo decides to investigate him and his associates. But as he searches for evidence at Reika's apartment, the father learns that his daughter is not the first victim and that a worse fate awaits her.

When he is discovered by Nobuto, Tetsuo ends up killing him in the ensuing fight. Assisted by his wife, Tetsuo hides the body in fear of retaliation from the yakuza. To add to the misfortune of the Tosu family, Nobuto happens to be the son of the mafia's head. Considered to be prime suspects behind Nobuto's disappearance, Tetsuo and his wife will have to deploy all their ingenuity to protect their daughter from the yakuza and their ruthless investigation.

Shizuka lives with her father Junsuke, who runs a photo studio in a local shopping district. Her father was born deaf and her mother, who was also deaf, died when Shizuka was little. Shizuka has been Junsuke's ears since she was a child. Therefore, she has a habit of staring at the other person and talking with gestures.

However, this habit is perceived poorly and her colleagues at the restaurant where she works part-time do not like her.

One day, Shizuka sees Keiichi, a regular customer of the restaurant, in trouble because he can't explain himself to a shopkeeper and Shizuka helps him.

Two people who are not good at communicating normally are attracted to each other...

The newlywed couple then move to an apartment and they attend a resident's meeting there. Nana and Shota become involved in murder cases that take place at the apartment. Residents get murdered one by one. Some residents have a motive, but those suspects have an alibi. Because of this, an arrest has yet to be made.

Due to circumstances Satoru is forced to find a new home for his cat Nana. Satoru, a gentle boy with a secret, boards a silver station wagon with his cat companion and they embark on a "final journey" to find a new owner for Nana.

Set in the near future around Shinjuku, Tokyo. Shinji got out from a youth detention center. Barikan suffers from stuttering and extreme shyness. These two men meet in a boxing gym. Shinji and Barikan become friends and pursue boxing under a hopeless situation.

Kazutoyo lived during the end of the Sengoku period (1546-1605). He was the first feudal lord of the fief of Tosa on the island of Shikoku. He served Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Chiyo (1557-1617) was his wife, and was known in history for her dedication and devotion to her husband (like Matsu was to Toshiie in Toshiie to Matsu). She is the daughter of a samurai who served the feudal lord Asai.

The Special Mission Task Team is not considered as important as it might sound. It's positioned in the lowest section of the Metropolitan Police Department and headed by Ukyo Sugishita.
