Watanabe Shogoro (Higashiyama Noriyuki) is a lazy constable at the Honmachi Magistrate’s Office and avoids troublesome tasks. But once there is a “job”, he demonstrates cool-headedness in cutting down villains with his sword. Shogoro has always been unable to hold his head high as a son-in-law adopted into the family. One day, he has a rare display of anger and gets into a quarrel with his wife Fuku (Nakagoshi Noriko). Fuku leaves home. Coincidentally, a chief priest and wives who have run away from their husbands and sought refuge at the temple are slain. Fearing that Fuku is one of them, Shogoro hurries to the temple. At the same time, a husband and wife pair of assassins Kawaraya no Jinpachiro (Endo Kenichi) and Nakibokuro no Omiya (Yamamoto Mizuki) arrive in Edo. Shogoro happens to encounter them at the corner of a street. Okiku (Wakui Emi), who knows Jinpachiro and Omiya, warns Shogoro that he must not have anything to do with them. However, Jinpachiro, a carouser and gambler, ends up meeting the picture framer Ryoji (Matsuoka Masahiro) at a gambling den in the red light district. Despite the things they share in common, Ryoji cannot hide his disgust at Jinpachiro’s way of life. At that point, a man who seems to be the criminal in the temple massacre is found to have committed suicide. Although Shogoro senses a conspiracy behind the case, the jurisdiction for the temple lies with the magistrate for temples and shrines, and Shogoro’s superior Masumura Rintaro (Namase Katsuhisa) is too timid to investigate further. The priest Enten (Takenaka Naoto) takes up the position of chief priest with the blessings of the magistrate for temples and shrines Edajima Kaneyoshi (Nakamaru Shinsho) shortly after that. Ryu (Chinen Yuri) who had originally experienced religious training as the heir of a temple, feels something is wrong with the new state of affairs at the temple which has started accepting females as if nothing has happened. On this day, Oichi (Tanaka Minako) brings her daughters Misato (Miyatake Mio) and Yui (Miyatake Matsuri) to the temple to seek shelter from her husband’s violence. However, behind the scenes at the temple is a conspiracy to take advantage of the vulnerabilities of females and exploit them.

Sato Ikuo met his wife, Kawamura Kaede at the hospital where he is interning at, when her grandfather, Kawamura Ryutaro, was hospitalised for his heart problems. He fell in love with her and decided to marry her even though their social statuses are worlds apart. The Kawamuras are a distinguished family running the prestigious Kawamura Memorial, a funeral home, and Kaede is their sole heir. Whereas Ikuo comes from a broken home and was brought up by his single mother. Due to that, Ikuo actually marries into the Kawamura family and tries to lead a happy life with his newly wedded wife. He takes in stride all the snide comments and innuendos from his in-laws, as he is not bothered about inheritance and what-not. In fact, Ikuo does not even get involved in the politics at the hospital, as his dream is to go to remote places that lack medical practitioners so as to be able to help as many people as possible. Will Ikuo and Kaede be able to lead a normal family life? Or will they be dragged into an ugly battle over the family fortunes? This urban light comedy drama tells the story of Jiang Deshun, the chairman of the "Yishun Baishun" Internet company. He has a large family and is facing a series of difficulties, dealing with family disputes, and carrying debts in order to bring the company back on track. Finally after these difficulties he places the focus on finding his family and solving the issues of the past to find happiness.

Story revolves around three sworn brothers namely Yu Hao, Shan Zi and Yang Xiong Qi. They are delinquents, fighting to gain what they want, though they have never officially joined any triads yet. Their leader Yu Hao falls for Xiao Yan Zi, who is the opposite of everything that the boys are. She is from a family with very good background and has a bright future as a budding pianist. An ambush on Yu Hao by a rival gang brings them together when Yan Zi saves Yu Hao.

So the story revolves around how they fall in love and how Yu Hao, in a bid to protect Yan Zi, ends up joining the triads in order to get protection.
